What do you think this bouquet? Anybody know what these flowers are called?

And do you have any suggestions for decorating that picks up on these themes? Deep reds and purples + peacock feathers. Particularly how could I use peacock feathers creatively? Ideas? The area in the picture will be the dance floor. The purple box is our favours (more or less).

My mom just bought this Nicole Miller gown for WP2, btw. She loved that it 'matched' despite my vociferous protestations that she doesn't have to 'match' herself to the decor, as though she were a tablecloth! It's a gorgeous comfy dress though.

More views of the venue. I think decor needs to be kept MINIMAL, but that this place needs some colour.

Another view... the tables will be fitted together into longer ones...probably 8-10 people per table.

This area will be turned into a lounge with comfy chairs to sit on and a candy table. We''ll also put the wishbowl somewhere over here.

Tables are going to have ''symbols'' instead of names to match the curtains you can see in the pic above... Namecards will have the person''s name beside the symbol. Then there will be a large card with the symbol on the table. Any ideas how to maybe use peacock feathers for table name holders? Or is that...uh... too much?

We also used these symbols on our invitations.

And while I''m posting the whole damn wedding and to give the whole feel, here''s my dress for WP2 for anyone who wasn''t around back then.

OK then! So now does anyone have ideas for how to add colour / incorporate peacock feathers into the decor.

your mom''s dress goes so perfectly with the peacock idea! I love it. For other ideas, I found this bouquet-you can obviously substitute in you own flowers in the particular colour

I would maybe decorate the base of the candelabras with feathers also and then have candles in the individual arms.

Oooh! Great ideas, guys. I love that bout. I had seen a picture of something like that before and lost it. The best part is, I''m pretty sure I could make that in a snap without messing it up.

Though maybe it''s worth just letting my florist do it. She''s on holidays at th moment, but called before she left to say I was ''next up'' on her creative list, so to gather ideas for when she gets back.

I guess most of the brides in the town where WP2 will be held are pretty conventional cause she seemed REALLY excited to get to do something other than bog standard roses. I''m excited too!

I''d say that the bout would be ok to make-not sure how complicated the bouquets would be though. I''m plannin to make my own bouquets but I haven''t tried them yet so not sure how difficult it''s going to be. Might be running to a florist in the end!

There are also white peacock feathers. It would be a beautiful bouquet to have the white feathers coming out from behind and around a white bouquet.

Your bridesmaids could carry a peacock feather "fan" instead of a bouquet, or several long feathers fastened with a ribbon.

Also, you could wrap your napkins with a piece of fabric and then insert a feather into the ring. That would add a lot to your tables without being a ton of centerpieces.

This is a peacock wreath I''ve seen at Marshalls. It would work to provide a punch on your large open walls. (and you could probably make it yourself)

sorry, still can''t post more than one pic in a post...
These are the white feathers.

Hey Indy. My cousin had peacock feather at her wedding a few years ago. One of the ways she used them was to put a bunch of tall feathers in large vases and attach one placecard to each feather. I''ll ask her if she has a picture and for other ways she used it since I can''t remember.
