Since I''m asscher-crazy I couldn''t resist THIS

And just for good measure ... another view

Holy cow, those are gorgeous. Of course I love the asscher, the split shank is a wow. And the legacy is very pretty. The last asscher is a bit much, but who says ya can''t have too much bling. Thanks for sharing those pics with us.

wow that last one is WAYYY too diamond encrusted for me. i'm slowly more and more getting turned off by all this micropave, and the halo thing too. now we're moving onto double halos?! when is it time for a new trend???????

the hersheys one is a real charmer, love that stone color....and i love the first one you posted too, yum. the square halos can stick around, i do like those.

the right hand ring looks like it exploded.

Yeah that last asscher pic has too much going on and you can''t really see the asscher. But the split shank one is very nice.

I like the split shank asscher and the yellow.

But, I bet that the "exploding cluster" ring is really pretty on.

Thanks for sharing!!!

Kaleigh and Mara ...

Hee hee ... I know a couple of them are OTT big time. Not sure what they were thinking with THIS contraption. The whole "collection" is pretty pave heavy but the detail reminded me of Leon Mage.

New trend? Let''s make one up & see if it flies. Anyone? (Emerald cuts set East/West ... Cabachon cut colored stones ...) Please no more "floating" diamond watches or rings that have dangling things on ''em.

OMG, I thought that last one was a joke, Decodelighted! It''s on the site!!!

I''m feeling very old-fashioned all of a sudden because that is just ewwwwwww.

OMG Deco...that last one is a REAL design???? I now have post-traumatic stress disorder.

I love the Hershey one, beautiful! And I'm a sucker for anything Asscher.

But in general, I'm with Mara....I'm starting to grow a little bored of micropave, halo, and diamond-encrusted melee everywhere designs. I know they're supposed to be antique-y and echo designs from the past, but to me they're starting to look almost trendy. Then again, I can totally see how someone might say the same exact thing about my solitaire and that it's just way overdone! lol. To each his own! At the end of the day, just give me simple and timeless and I'm a happy girl. :)

Noooo
emcry.gif
please don't end the halo/micropave trend until I get my ring!! I promise to only get a single halo and not to have anything dangling from it...but, I'm okay with anything that explodes diamonds!

Marvel -- don''t you worry. The halo/micropave look is popular and will *always* be...for good reason! The style is intrinsically lovely. :) You should ignore scrooges like me....deep down, I''m just jealous and wish I could have my own micropave setting! heheh.

Micropave and halos ARE very beautiful...but we have just seen so many of them lately on here...PS is a microcosm of the real world of course and in reality I have only seen one gal with a halo on her ring (and it looked great on her!). But on here, daily...micropave crusts...halos....eternities. Each one more elaborate than the last! Lately I have started to covet the simple Tiffany solitaire look. Sacrilege I know!

Mara, totally good point. PS really is its own little universe and is almost solely responsible for the big pave/halo trend here. But in real life, I''ve never seen ANYONE with a pave halo around their stone. Strange, considering micropave and halo settings have taken over almost every B&M shop around here. Makes sense that many of the "next generation" of ladies getting engaged in the real world will soon be sporting diamond-encrusted and detailed pieces!

when is it time for a new trend???????
Probably not now... the ''fast track'' pave (made otherwise than all-the-way handwork) is only starting to get anywhere close to the original look. And it so fits fashion jewelry and colored stones.

Anyway, there is a bit much on this forum already. So what is going to be? Sidestones? I can''t see those rings getting ''naked'' after all the bling.

Hee hee ... I KNOW! That one is K-R-A-Z-Y. (Most of the stuff looked sweet to me BTW, but that one cracked me up)

KristyDarling, sorry about your Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as well!!!

It''s funny ... THIS one I didn''t mind so much. To each his own!

On the pave/halo/encrusted trend: I think it''s gonna be a long while before America in general moves past pave & embraces the "next big thing". I loves to look at it, covet it and dream about it. I wouldn''t probably want to care for it/baby it/live with it. Ya know what I''ve been super coveting in pave (or fakey pave) -- a brooch! Not an everyday wear & tear piece ... but a special occ. "bling it up a notch" show-stopper.

BTW ... can you believe this was my ultimate engagment ring fantasy up until the past couple years??? I went from stark/modern/industrial/colored stone ... to deco/antique/asscher. Good thing I didn''t get engaged at 30, can you say "re-set".

Actually I would not be surprised to see the halo and micropave trend die down a bit soon on PS...from my experience PS is ahead of the curve in designs as well, the eternity style rings making their debut and having their heyday before the general public really caught on and same with the halos, we saw them on here before as well, so I would not be surprised to see a new trend slowly making an appearance, it may even be a FURTHERING of the micropave into the insane like some of the ones you posted here deco, who knows!!! I watch with great interest.

Even after all the eternity rings I see on here, I have only in real life ever seen one set close to mine, in a jewelry store, different head but same bands basically. Never on a person! And the halo, just one! Micropave? Just one or two with kind of an antique flare, not the encrusted ones like Daniel B etc. So in reality, PS *is* such a tiny tiny % of what is out there, which is so funny to think about because at times it seems like the 'jewelry world' is here shopping, browsing, commenting, assisting!!
