I haven''t posted in a long time, but I''ve been following everyone''s stories, so I felt like it was time for me to get back in the game!

Long story short, I''m really hoping my stay here will (finally

) be over soon... BF and I are going on vacation next month and I *think/hope/pray* that it will happen then. Like all of you have probably done, I''m trying not to get my hopes up, BUT I happened upon some info he was searching about on the internet and forgot to erase his history. LOL I swear I wasn''t snooping either, I was looking for a website I had visited the day before and found some interesting things instead!

I''m cautiously excited and therefore have only told one person (my sister) that I think it''s going to happen then. Last year we went on vacation and I told my family/friends that I really thought it would happn then.Well, obviously it didn''t. I guess I''m afraid that if I tell my friends (and especially my mother) and then it doesn''t happen, I will just feel that much worse

I see things have been going better for you also, any new and exciting things with your SO?

We''re going to the Outer Banks in NC 2nd week of May. When we were in the middle of making our arrangements, he did searches on "creative ways to propose" and forgot to erase them from the computer! So I know that it must be coming relatively soon even if not on vacation b/c our timeline is running down quickly..but I really hope this is it b/c I couldn''t think of a better place to get engaged- it should be gorgeous out there!

Not much has been happening…we talk about it a little more often but two of our friends are getting married in May so there’s a LOT of wedding talk.

I’m really hoping that it will be by the end of the summer at best, end of the year at worst but I think I felt that way last year too

If 2008 passes us by with no engagement I will have to give an ultimatum

I really don’t want it to come down to that but I’ve made a vow to myself that it will HAVE to happen for myself and my sanity.

So, I’m just keeping positive thoughts around the topic and hope that things will fall into place sooner rather than later. I suspect I’ll really get the itch once this wedding and over and done with. I have felt from the very beginning that there was no way SO would propose until after this wedding because he was concerned with stealing their thunder. I just hope I can keep my head screwed on straight and not freak out!!!

I completely understand how you feel about giving an ultimatum.. If our timeline were to pass with no engagement I promised myself I would leave. I don''t see that happening, but unfortunately it''s always a possibility! Hopefully once the May weddings are over, it can be your turn! Good luck!

Ruby- How exciting! I hope it happens for you sooner than later!

I can completely relate to what you stated about being hesitant to share with friends and family and I think that, for your own sake or any LIW''s sake, a lot of the time, that''s probably a better idea. Once people "know" that it''s on the horizon, they tend to get in your business and it kind of places more pressure on you. I was happy that I had PS through which I could share my thoughts and suspicions without having to involve my friends and family. Only very few people knew that it was even close to happening so it made it a lot easier to just wait for it instead of having other people anticipating it on my behalf.
