Hi everyone!
I’ve been lurking around here for several weeks while waiting for my stone to be remounted. When I log on, I make sure to have my drool cup ready… you ladies have some scrumptious blingification on here!
Anyway, here’s my story. My husband & I have been married for 8 years. I had a platinum e-ring with baguette sides and a white gold wedding band with baguettes and tiny rounds.
The specs are:
.70 ct. pear
VS1
E
So… two of the prongs were broken on the left side of the stone. My husband said rather than have them fixed, let’s just have it reset. It’s always bugged me a little that the metals didn’t match, plus I wanted something that would be really secure (we have 3 very active little boys, if that tells you much about my lifestyle).
A couple of months ago, I didn’t know a bezel setting existed, but I found a bezel-set pear on a British website & fell in love with the look. I scoured Google for more bezel-set pears, and didn’t find a whole lot. I kept going back to the first one I’d found. So I printed that out and took it to a local jeweler that my husband knew of. He said he had a guy in CA he uses (I’m in GA) who he knew would be able to replicate the look. I was nervous to have it shipped off, and it took exactly 3 weeks and 4 days to get it back, but I’m glad I took the chance. To pass the time, I started lurking (rather compulsively, I must say) on here.
The guy did a phenomenal job! Here’s the finished product. Voila!
