Just wondering if you ladies have a place that you have always dreamed of taking your honeymoon... mine used to be Jamaica but now I''ve been there 4 times, so I''m trying to think of a new place. Anbody have any really exotic place they''d like to go?

If so, share! And let everyone know where you live now :)

I''m in the midwest, and I''d love to go to Greece!

Hmm...I have to say I''d love to go on a European cruise for a week or 12 days and then spend a few days in Italy or Greece!! Crystal cruises is really an amazing cruise line from what I''ve heard and I''d love the chance to go on it. I''d love to go on one of these cruises: http://www.crystalcruises.com/cruise_itinerary.aspx?CID=8314 http://www.crystalcruises.com/cruise_itinerary.aspx?CID=8313 http://www.crystalcruises.com/cruise_itinerary.aspx?CID=7325

Or, who am I kidding, this itenerary is amazing! http://www.crystalcruises.com/cruise_itinerary.aspx?CID=8308

I don''t know if we can afford that though! An idean honeymoon for me would be in a warm location with a mix of sightseeing, shopping, swimming, relaxing, eating amazing meals and drinking great wine! Even though I love my BF to pieces, I know we''d both get bored laying on the beach for 2 weeks straight!

Greece or somewhere tropical. Just someplace beautiful where I can see water.

I''ve always wanted to go to Bali so that''s on the list.

We''ve been thinking of Ireland or Scotland as well.

I guess it all depends on what time of year it is when we get married.

I''d like to spend 3 weeks to a month in Europe. Mainly Italy...and eat lots and lots of really good food and drink lots and lots of really great wine. I''m a simple girl.

I''m not LIW but If I ever have a honeymoon I''d go to Asia. I''ve been dreaming about visiting Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Korea, China, Japan, Hong Kong, etc. These countries have such old cultures and are so different from what I know. I''m sure I''ll be totally amazed.

Well... There's a few... But mostly are places I'd like to go in general but would work WONDERFULLY for honeymoons!

Italy

Greece
Rome
Tahiti

Oh I'm from the Southern Middle U.S.

Never been outside U.S.

I'd love to go to Canada sometime too!!

We''re going to what has come to be a dream honeymoon location next summer. We''re going to the Azores (off the coast of Portugal), more specifically, the island of Sao Miguel. It''s beautiful! My father''s family is from the Azores and I''ve never been. I never used to think of it as THE perfect place to spend on our honeymoon but we wanted to go somewhere a little different. Here are a few photos of the island that I found:

Zoe-- that place looks AHHHHMAZING!

Most of my family is from ...errrr.. Ohio. Guess I could probably go there; maybe I should post some pics! LOL!

Anybody ever already been somewhere they would recommend for a honeymoon?

I love hot, tropical places. I already live in the Caribbean so I guess it would Bali, Tahiti, Fiji, or Hawaii.

My dream honeymoon would involve some beach in a really gorgeous spot (total relaxation, reading, massages, moonlit beach walks, fruity drinks by the pool), some city (shows, shopping, fancy restaurants, museums, great wines, walking through a wonderful city, sitting by the fire in the evenings), going a luxurious cruise ship to somewhere really special (in a suite due to my claustrophobia) and maybe on to a safari in a beautiful game preserve. Each place, I would want a stunning suite of rooms, with gorgeous views of the area, and top notch service. I would want pampering and would not want to think about anything other than just enjoying each day. I think I would need about 6 weeks to 2 months. Australia could be great, never been there, and that could certainly be a great beach spot, but I also know there are some other really incredible beach locales that I have not been to. London or Paris could be great for the city aspect, since I know theater in London is great. If I had a bit of each of these things, it would cover all my bases. Just one type of thing might be boring, and I love cities like London, Paris, etc. And a cruise, if the itinerary was right, would be neat, as long as I could get on and off frequently, and they had some gambling, because I love roulette for some reason! No way on earth my hubby could ever take off even two weeks, so that would never have happened, and considering I hate to fly, that hopping around was not likely either!

we may not be engaged...hence why im sit a proud LIW! lol

...but....

the honey moon is one thing he has had his heart set on since we even started talking about getting engaged, besides having everythng planned for his proposal (which i have been super good and not even asking questions about because im too busy this semester) he has decided that we will be spending a week and a half to two weeks in japan...

he has been in love with japan since he was 16, and since he has given me everythng i would have ever dreamed of the honeymoon is all his choice...

sooo....we will be going to JAPAN

im actually very very exited!

TAHITI for SURE!!!!!!

I would absolutely LOVE to go ANYWHERE tropical!

My FF and I used to talk about the French Riviera...but I dont think that is on the agenda any longer! He is now talking about hawii...which would also be glorious...but I am hoping for somwhere unique and exotic!

I guess...maybe...we would need to get engaged first.?!?!?!

GREAT TOPIC!

I''m so not a beach girl. Irish skin + sun = OWWWW!!!

I''ve no set ideas on honeymoon... I''ve travelled a lot so honeymoon to me is just another holiday, it doesn''t have to be the ''holiday of a lifetime''. We plan on doing that next year anyway!

BUT, on holidays, I have always wanted to do one of the package trips in Lapland. There are different itineraries but usually you''ll include a reindeer sled ride out into the wilderness to eat at a campfire in the snow and spend the night in a log cabin; a day learning to drive a husky sled; a night in an igloo with a glass roof through which you can watch the Northern Lights; and a night in an ice hotel... you get the idea!!!

Here''s one link and here''s an igloo!

By the way, did you guys know ''honeymoon'' is an Irish word? There used to be a tradition here that newlyweds would drink mead (an alcoholic drink made from honey) for the first month (one moon''s passage) after their marriage. It was supposed to, ahem, aid fertility!

HI:

My honeymoon 22 years ago was a dream: 4 weeks touring Greek Islands and 5 days in London. I'd do it again and wouldn't change a thing. Greece is honeymoon perfect!

That said, Tahiti would be another choice!!!

cheers--Sharon

I’ve drank mead a few times before (surprisingly difficult to find in Massachusetts) but I can absolutely see how drinking it for a month could “aid” with “fertility” - - the stuff I have had has been very strong indeed

The BF and I agree on this one...

3 weeks in Africa:

1 1/2 weeks on Safari
1 week on the beach... so pretty there!
1/2 a week in wine country, South Africa

That''s our plan...

I would love to stop in Tahiti though..

I already had my honeymoon but my a dream Honeymoon would be the Seychelles combined w/a South African Safari. I also would love to spend 3 weeks in Greece going to Crete, Mykonos, and Santorini. I also wouldn't mind spending time in the Amalfi Coast of Italy. Gosh, I love daydreaming about trips!!!

ETA: Zoe, that is so beautiful; it looks almost like Hawaii w/the cliffs of the island! You will have a wonderful time; I can't wait for your pictures

Actually, it''s my dad''s grandfather and grandmother that were born in the Azores. My dad''s never been either. He was born in Jersey, as was my mom.

Two of the other places I''d love to visit (for a honeymoon if we didn''t have a place chosen yet) are Italy and Hawaii. Tahiti and those type of places/islands sound heavenly but SOOOO far away. I think one of the reasons we didn''t choose Hawaii is that since we live on the east coast, it would be one loooonnnnnng trip -- first fly to CA which is about a 5-6 hour trip, then add another 5 hour or so trip to get to Hawaii. Too much traveling just to get there, you know?

I''ve always wanted to go to Carmel and that area of CA. I hear it''s beautiful. Parts of Canada (PEI, BC, Nova Scotia) are supposed to be great places too. I guess it depends on the type of scenery you''re looking for.

My FI isn''t one to lie out on the beach, so going to someplace tropical would get "old" for him after a while. I''d constantly be worried whether he was having a good time and that seemed like too much pressure. The Azores seemed like a good compromise...great weather, scenery, as well as a different region and culture to explore.

I think I may have gone somewhat off-topic.

I have three dream honeymoons!

1) Fly out to Napa Valley in CA and stay at a bed and breakfast, have a spa day, and go on wine tours for 3-4 days...then fly to Hawaii and stay at a really nice resort for like 7 days, and go scuba diving, relax, get tan, eat etc etc.

2)Fly to Venice, Italy the romance city of the world, then go on a wine tour in tuscany, then head to florence and rome!

3) Fly to Bora Bora in Polynesia and stay here http://www.expedia.com/pub/agent.dll/qscr=dspv/htid=14637 TIKI HUTS ON THE WATER!!! AMAZING!
