I recently came into possession of a great diamond - a 1.022 (square) HOF Dream Diamond, G color, VS-1. Its a real beaut of a stone, and the pricing from my friend in the trade made sense. The size is 6.58 x 5.60 x 4.10 mm.

I''d like to set this in platinum, for a man''s ring, and am hoping to get some inspiration for a design that doesn''t look like a wedding band.

Ideas?

Thanks much,

-Gemnick

Congrats! It sounds beautiful! I just wanted to say that. I don''t really know how I''d make a stone that big into a man''s ring for myself. I hope others will have ideas!

It will be a challenge - fortunately I have large-sized hands. I have crafted successful rings from sapphire, tsavorite, and red spinel (separately, of course), all with stones bigger than this diamond. This diamond is definitely going to be a little tricky. I think there''s a solution waiting, though.

Appreciate the thought -

There are a few men on here who have had larger diamonds set into titanium tension settings by Bruce Boone. Do a search on his name and you will see a bunch of threads come up. I *think* Kenny is one poster??

Thanks, Dreamer Dachsie - will do.

Dachshunds are my favorites as well. We had a beautiful mini - Daisy - who was a sweetheart.

Maybe Stephan will see this. I think his diamond is 2ct set as a solitaire. He might have ideas.

Thanks, Danny. Do you know Stephan''s PS name - I''ll pull up his entries if you can let me know. -Gemnick

Stephan''s PS name is Queenmum

Yep!
