I’ve been looking a lot on websites because I’m determined to get an OEC and there’s one vendor whose stuff looks really pretty so I was going to ask if anybody knew or ever had any experience with jacob K jewelry?

i’ve noticed that he has various certifications on the stones and he has some GIA Certs but then he has some that are called DIA. when I look that up I come up with stocks. Does anybody understand what this is? I actually emailed him asking if it was a typo and he said no it’s a lab.

Google came up with International diamond laboratories.

Seriously - never heard of it

FWIW it's in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Hi @Mreader, did you go through and purchase anything through him? I contacted them in IG about a ring I was interested in. It's listed on their website and ebay accounts however, they informed me that the ring has been sold. I'm confused with their sales tactics. Just wondering if you had any further dealings with them.

Hi @clorchicken no I didn't purchase but i did speak to him on the phone. It was weird because the ring/stone I was interested in that was pictured on the web he told me that the stone was actually in a different setting. He showed a video of the setting/stone. But there was a video on IG of the ring I was interested in (the one with stone in different setting) and it's because it's a common setting for his store. So basically even though the stone on ebay wasn't in that setting he was using a pic from a different stone and setting. I thought that was strange and kind of annoying. And yes he has ebay, IG, his own website, and maybe even Etsy so I don't think all of the different things are updated. Also many things, like the antique things on IG aren't on ebay or site at all. BUT @iluvcarats recently posted gorgeous three stone was from that seller, so she may be able to tell you about her experience.

Thanks so much!!! I am a bit put off by how he's selling things but hopefully it will be a better process if I call him. Thanks so much for the input!
