Ok, so thanks to all these ENABLERS and INFECTORS on PS, my wheels started turning!

Since I received my leverbacks, I found that I never wore my studs anymore. I hated having that much $$ just sitting in the jewelry box unused.....but even MORE than that, I felt like I was a DIAMOND NEGLECTER! SOB! How could I leave my beautiful stones just sitting there abandoned?

So, I decided to trade in one of my .55 studs. Initially, it was earmarked to go toward another long-coveted project (which is still happening but via another means - more in the coming days on that!
27.gif
). BUT THEN, my good buddies Mara and KtRn planted a little poisonous seed, and here is the result!

(Actually, truth be told, I''m the one who started the ball rolling. Kt was thinking of trading her studs for something else, and I suggested initially that she keep them. But THEN, she found her 2.43 killer K stone, and all bets were off. She missed the stud option, and an idea was born.....get smaller studs and get the jackets to make up the size).

I''d like to personally thank STEEL for started the NOXIOUS, VIRAL jacket flu that seems to have struck PS! The proverbial grapevine was BUZZING on these after she posted a pic of her 1-ct stone next to the jacketed smaller studs and PS-land saw how huuuuuuuuuge they looked. Steel, I''m holding you personally responsible for the dent in my bank account!

I traded in my .55 J stud for these two .34 I, VS2 ACA studs from WF and only had to add a few $$ more. Then I bought the jackets, and VOILA! BA-BLING! At this price point, it''s much easier to have ''occasional wear'' stones that I can love!

Plus, with this look, I get the feeling I''m going to be much more inclined to switch between my studs and leverbacks.

I''m no diamond discriminator - I love em all - but when I opened the box and twirled the stones, I was all "uh-HUH! Yep - Brian sure knows what he''s doing with those ACA babies!" The scintillation and dancing fire colors are scrumptious! These stones just BLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAZE with color!

Enough with the babbling - let''s get to what everyone cares about anyway! EYE-CANDY!

Alj, do you know the outside diameter of those jackets? I was thinking about going with half carat studs, but I am wondering if they would be too big with jackets???

Wow, gorgeous jackets; they look PERFECT w/your studs

I have a wonderful pair of HOF drop earrings and my .84ctw studs are just hanging around with time on their hands...if they had hands. Now all of you enablers are causing me to covet these jackets. "Now, Clarice, what do we covet? We covet what we see." It''s all your fault if I do something bad

Those are soooo on my list of things I NEED! Perfect size and what a great way to get the size!

What size stone do you have in your second holes??

My third post with yet another question...

Are those studs set in the standard martini or the handmade?

*swoon* I''m in love!

Alj, your earrings and jackets are gorgeous. Now I need these and a pair of dangle stud leverbacks. You are putting expensive ideas in my head.

DS, these jackets are made to fit .30 stones, but they do have them for .50 stones, too!

The jackets add approx 2 mm to the stones - from 4.50mm nekkid to about 6.50 jacketed.

.50s run around 5.13mm or so, so jacketed they''d be around 7.20mm or so? maybe 7.25mm?

Here''s a picture compared to my 1.24 center stone.

Another comparison shot.

A collage of bling!

Several folks have asked previously how they work, so I thought this might be helpful.

As you can see, the jacket is like a donut, and the stud fits through it. Here are some photos to give you an idea.

Hope you all enjoyed! I''ll go back and cull the questions and answer them next.

Good Grief! They look gorgeous!!!! I am amazed how much larger they make the studs look!

I already had pendant and leverback fever, and now I've caught the jacket fever too!!!!!!!!!!

eta: Do the jackets fit better with any particular setting re: 3 or 4 prongs?

DS, they''re in the standard martini.....the whole point of this project for me was affordability. I felt SO badly about such a wasted amt of money sitting unused! For the price of one stud, I got two smaller studs....much better.

The jackets can be used with other stones, too, so I plan on getting some sapphires and perhaps a pair of rubies in these sizes too to expand the wardrobe!

Gorgeous!

Now you guys have me stalking the WF jackets...they make some with pink diamonds in rose gold...would love to see them with sapphires...oh, the OPTIONS!!! Ack!! Must step away from the computer...

Wow, a 2mm gain! Thanks for the detailed photos and the dimensions!!! That was really a great way to get another pair of earrings!!!

Who, meeeeeeeeeee?

Thanks, Skip and Lorelei! I'm really quite taken with them.

DS: The funny thing? WF has had these in stock for well over a year with NO bites! Can you imagine?!! THEN Miss Steel posts hers, and BINGO....they are evaporating! I had to wait for mine to come in because they RAN OUT and had to get more!

Talk about finding a hidden treasure! LOL

Jayrenay, the second hole stud is listed in that post above, I think....it's a .16 rsg stud.
