Diamond Earring Fatigue

Hello, I've learned a lot on this forum, but all this research is giving me decision paralysis so I'm wondering if someone might be able to help me? My partner is buying me diamond stud earrings for Christmas and I am looking because I know he'd just buy the first pair he sees because he hates shopping. Problem is our budget is low (around $500 ideally, but could possibly go up a few hundred). Can you find certified earrings at this price or would I be looking for preset, uncertified only?

Cut is of most importance to me. I inherited a family member's engagement ring and although it's small, that diamond has a lot of fire. I'm okay with smaller, since this is my first pair of diamond earrings, but I'd like the earrings to be equally bright and sparkly. Labs scare me off because of the blue nuance, which I wouldn't want at all. Just not sure if I should look for smaller/cheaper naturals or larger labs for a similar price (if I can find some without blue)? Am open to any and all suggestions because I feel like I'm about to give up out of frustration. TIA.

Does the $500 include the settings, or just diamond budget? My lab pear studs were a bit over $300 just in the settings.

Preset...Have you checked the various vendors?

James Allen
Adiamor
BlueNile 1/2 carat $616

Edit...The folks in the lab forum can help you find lab stones. They will make sure there is no blue nuance. If I had your budget, I would
go with lab stones.

It could be just the diamond budget. I'm open to buying the stones now and setting them a bit later.

I did check those vendors prior to posting. I was under the impression that not knowing any details regarding cut was bad, but perhaps that just applies to larger stones?

I'm seriously considering labs. Although, would an upgrade program seem like a good possibility since I could increase my budget later on?

You can easily find labs without blue nuance!

Long time PSer @Rhino at distinctivegem.com has these preset labs for $600 .50cttw, and he will personally vouch for the stones. He's got great customer service and has all the machines and expertise to pick fantastic stones.

https://www.distinctivegem.com/collections/rhinos-ready-to-go-lg-diamond-stud-program/products/50cttw-ready-to-go-lg-diamond-stud-earrin not put any details about the stones? I don't see anything about color, clarity range, etc.

I don't see any information about the color, clarity, etc. Is this typical for this vendor?

I would reach out and ask him. He's super nice and open /honest.

@lovedogs, thank you for mentioning that site as I had not heard of it.

If you are thinking of upgrading, you should ask about that on the lab forum if you think you might go with lab stones.

I don't know anything about upgrades for pre-sets in natural stones either, so someone else can speak to that, and you should check each website that you are considering.
