Hi All
My DH bought my diamond stud earrings as a wedding gift 3 yrs ago. I need to get them reset and wanted to ask for the best options.
Im getting them reset because they are NOT screw backs and no matter what type of back I buy, they still keep falling out every so often and Im terrified I will lose one for good. The other thing is I truly want something larger so He bought me the jacket things to wear with them, but there is something off about them when I put the two together, I dont know if the diamond is too small or the jacket is too heavy but when I wear them together its almost always leaning down and doesn't look right.

so - what do you all suggest I do? Thanks in advance. Im not sure how big they are. maybe .50 or .75 each.

Thanks in advance :wavey: :wavey:

Funny but we have very similar situations with our diamond studs. To address your first concern, the drooping can readily fixed by using a stabilizer with your backing. Either a clear plastic disc on its own (if you go with the screw backs) or an all in one. This will give your lobes some support and the diamonds will face straight out instead of drooping.

I love the Bev k setting as well and have been searching endlessly for almost 3 years for the perfect one. However, I've been too shy take the plunge as I'm nervous about having my hole visible. I'm self conscious that in a few yrs the hole will start to stretch. What I suggest is to buy a cheap copy and wear it for a while to see how you feel about it before committing to the setting. I dontknow if it's easy for a jeweler to use your studs and the jacket as they would need to be fused together, the prong removed in the back and a wire attached. It sounds pretty simply but it may just be cheaper to buy a new setting if you can get your money back from the jacket. Labor and parts may cost more than a new setting.

As for my similar situation, because I always have to use a stabilizer on my studs, I never wear them. It takes too much time and effort to put the damn disc in and I keep losing them I love Leon Mege's simple French wire studs but couldn't commit so I bought a cheap copy to wear until I make a final decision. Look at emitations.com for fakes or many department stores will have them. Just my 2cts.
