Do they make any lotions that stick more to your hands than to your ring?

I just take my rings off-it feels icky to me to put lotion on when I have rings on my fingers!

I don''t use lotion on my ring fingers...I use it sparingly near my ring fingers and avoid my jewelry. I hate the feeling of ''wet'' hand lotion though, I only use lotions that absorb quickly (mainly natural brands, from the health food store!).

No-I don''t think most of the general public is concerned with this!

Just take them off when you put it on.

I do, but hate the film that comes about an hour later. Bleh!

I think they will all get goop on your diamonds. I never wear jewelry when I wash my hands or use lotion.

Ditto to the others - I always take my rings off to apply lotion. That said, I''ve found that L''Occitane 20% Shea Butter hand lotion absorbs quickly and therefore I can put my rings BACK on more quickly.

Like AmberGretchen, I also use the L''Occitane hand cream (I love their shea soaps!). After I''ve applied the hand cream, I use a towel to wipe around my ring finger and the surrounding two fingers before I put my rings on. I never put hand lotion on without first taking off my rings, so I don''t moisturize in public places!

Marcy, you take your rings off to wash your hands??? Isn''t this how rings fall into a sink or get forgotten? I wash my hands too many times a day to even dream of removing my rings first.

to the OP - really, the only thing that I''ve found I can get away with is either applying lotion just to my palms and around my finger tips or using hand sanitizer instead of lotion.

I do this as well - usually I put them in a pocket or a section of my purse, and have had no issues thus far (fingers crossed) with losing rings.

I do this because it is actually harder to get your hands properly clean with rings on - they are one of the most common carriers of germs, in fact. While I think that a lot of our society is overly paranoid about germs in most cases (not just spouting that - I have a PhD in Immunology, so its based on my education), hand-washing, especially after using the restroom, is not one of them, and in fact, most people wash their hands in an entirely inadequate fashion. So I take my rings off to use the restroom whenever possible, and put them back on after I''ve thoroughly washed my hands.

I find it amazing how many of my female co-workers are disgusted by how sweaty my hands are when I take off rubber gloves, but they themselves do not wash after using the toilet.

Thanks for the cream recommendations. :)

I take my rings off when I'm in the car and put lotion on them. When out-and-about, I just deal with them getting a bit gunky when washing hands or whatever. It's not that big of a deal as long as my ring gets cleaned w/a toothbrush about once a week. Normally, I just be sure to clean it if I'm going somewhere. If I'm at home, I don't bother.

Never found a lotion that doesn't stick to my diamond. I use L'occitane and Bliss and both still make it filmy.

I take my rings off for lotion but leave them on for handwashing...
