So i just had my fiance's ring resized with Kay Jewelers and qhen it was turned in, the middle main diamond showed these identifiers:

And now that its been resized, its this below image:

Now im no expert but is this a different diamond?
To any of you experts out there, could the magnification just be getting different results? I paid just over $5700 for this engagement ring + band and i chose to pay extra for a higher quality diamond so i just want to make sure no funny business is at hand haha.

Hello and welcome to the forum! There are some eagle-eyed diamond experts on this forum who I'm sure will be along shortly to help you. You may be able to identify clarity or cut markers (or even slight differences in diameter or depth). But if you're solely comparing reflections in one photo to another, that may be tricking your eyes. I just wanted to ask if you have paperwork on the center diamond and if it was inscribed?

Hello! I do have a card that came with the ring that has its basic info like the clarity and such but that is all. I do not think it was inscribed (like a serial number imbedded in the diamond?)

I thought these numbers in the image were carbon spot identifiers?

I personally cannot make out any identifying markers. I'm not sure if I'm looking at contrast, reflections, dirt, inclusions, etc. But, again, my eyes might not be finely tuned enough to do so. Perhaps another member will be able to help. If you really feel certain that the diamond may be different, you can have a G.G. or D.G. compare the stone to your certificate. With regard to inscriptions, yes, certain institutions, such as the GIA, will laser inscribe diamonds with a unique number which they also notate on the accompanying report. Or, if the diamond comes to them already inscribed, they will mention that number in the dossier comments. It's a great security feature.

Who picks the identifiers? Is it a human or a software type tool? The ring looks pretty dirty in the first shot which would make
it difficult to pick out a real inclusion vs. dirt/oil. Did they clean it before they picked out the inclusions the first time?

Perhaps you should concentrate on the size/shape of the prongs to see if they are different. If the diamond was swapped out
(which is an extremely rare occurrence and I doubt it has happened here) the prongs would be redone and would most likely
look different.

It appears that the second picture has been taken from the other side so if you flip the picture around it looks like the "2" on
both pictures are somewhat pointing to the same inclusion.

Cant explain the 1 and 3 except it was a very dirty stone to start with and then cleaned. What clarity is the stone?

I believe it was a VS2 clarity. I was trying to login to website to confirm but cant remember password and trying to do a password reset on the phone is not working out so great lol.

Im unsure who picked the identifiers as it was a seasonal worker woman who was zooming in and out on the ring that was also hooked up to a computer. She did compliment how clear the ring was haha. I do recal her misting and drying it with some kind of spray just before the zoom

I can't help with the identifiers but as pointed out by @tyty333 it would very rare that your diamond would be switched out.

Thanks for the input. The fact that the 2 is still damn near in the same spot im willing to accept that its just a difference of a not so clean ring pics taken the first go round and then 2nd time was more clean so slightly different results. Given that it was through the kay jewelery company im sure they have strict guidelines when it comes to work being done so its as you guys said, very unlikely to have been switched out. Thanks :D

It is possible the diamond has been rotated. Also there may have been dirt under a prong that was showing in a reflected position that is now clean.
The proportions of the "after" look good.
