Hello! Posted here a while ago with a bunch of options from BlueNile but I quickly realized they weren't great choices after hearing some feedback. I've been doing more research ever since and been searching on WhiteFlash and found some nice diamonds I am interested in purchasing for an engagement ring (time is running out lol.) I got down to three diamonds, reached out to WF to pull them for me to get some pictures/videos which they did and I would like to know your thoughts on these diamonds.

1.136ct H VS2 'ACA' I can see a small inclusion on the 360 video around the 2oclock area but the specialist at WF says the inclusions within the diamond are small and light in color and she wasn't personally able to see them even looking as closely as 6 inches away.

1.148ct H VS2 'ACA' This one has a darker inclusion on the 360 video around the 6oclock area. The specialist said she was able to spot it when she knew where to look when looking from 6 inches away but it was not obvious at casual observation. This diamond I was going to remove from the list but I included in the post because I got additional picture/videos from WF. (Least favorite)

1.31ct I VS2 'ACA' I love the size of this one as my ideal diamond would be 1.3 - 1.5 ct. My only concerns were the I color and the clouds in the report. The WF specialist said there are light inclusions that aren't visible even at 6 inches and that the I color holds up very well next to the Hs. "The note on this one for clouds not shown is put there for matters of complete reporting and has no impact to the performance, beauty or transparency of the diamond." This one is personally my favorite and the specialist said out of the three she would choose this one as well as it holds up well with color and its very clean. Any thoughts?

Attached are pictures of the stones next to each other. For some reason it wont allow me to post the video she sent me. I will try to add a comment to this post with the video. Let me know what you guys think about the stones.

I agree that the 1.31 I holds up very well against the two H’s. I can definitely see the size difference. How will you set it?

I am between a solitaire and a pave at the moment, slightly leaning towards the pave for that extra sparkle. I have three in mind right now so it will come down to one of these three:

Platinum Valoria Cathedral French-Set Diamond Engagement Ring

Platinum Valoria French-Set Diamond Engagement Ring

Platinum Vatche U-113 6-Prong Solitaire Engagement Ring

I can’t wait to see what you choose! Here is another solitaire setting to consider, very pretty.
Please post photos of the completed ring. Good luck!

That is very nice as well, I’ll post some pics once I have the ring, thank you!

I have a 1.34 diamond as my engagement ring. It’s a nice size. This 1.31 looks lovely. Go for it!

I* personally would take the 1.3 for the extra size.

If you want pave, I would ask about this setting (its slightly customized). It looks similar to the Valoria French Set but has
a different head. I would ask about a 6-prong head the same style of this 5-prong head. I'm just not too fond of the head
on the French set Valoria.

I have the Valoria petite 6-prong solitaire with petite claw prongs and it's a lovely setting.

That 1.31 I looks really bright to me. I’d go for it over the smaller 1.13.

Another vote for the 1.3. How do you think it performs in the videos you have?

I like this, do you have any more pictures of this same setting (the 5-prong head pave)?

Whats the name of the setting in the picture? I do like the style of the head. (I know I double posted)

Hi, Tttp!
Assuming it's one of these with a custom six prong head:

Thank you! I like the look of the second one you posted, it gives the diamond a very "open" look but I assume adding 2 more prongs would take that away. Looking for something along the lines of that second one you posted mixed with the platinum valoria french set.

WF will definitely help you out with your vision and work out the CAD with you until you give final sign-offs.

Hi! I’m not seeing f how to go back to edit the original post so I hope this helps. Halo is my new Simon G set. TheTacori is without the halo and has the twisted shank and pave wedding band with it, it was a size 4 before I had my son, now I wear a 5.25, so it looks bigger, the By Bonnie is the tulip solitaire setting pave shank with 2.2 in the center.

No, that's the only photo they have. It's in their custom rings area. Let me see if I can get you the link...

You have to go to this link, scroll to the bottom then do a bunch of right-clicks to get to it. There is no direct link to the photo.

This is what it says below the picture
Custom 5-Prong Half Eternity
French Set Pave Diamond
Engagement Ring set with
1.405ct H VS1 A Cut Above...

I'd rather have it as a 6 prong.

Sorry to go against the other opinions but I would reconsider that I color. I can see it and I think you will, too, irl. So now you have to decide if you are willing to sacrifice on having something brighter (this is not brilliance I’m referring to) to something larger. And the larger the stone the more evident color. You have to decide. Upside working with WF is if you get the larger and see the color and it bothers you it can be easily exchanged. So you are in a great position with a much less stressful decision. I’m sorry to be such a buzzkill but ACA or not, there is a clear delineation when you cross over from H to I. This may not be of concern to you and if so that will be awesome. However, if you do see it and it isn’t favorable to you, once you see it you will always see it. Again, sorry for the opposing position.

I like the 1.3! Also, I recognize Becca’s hand in these photos! You are in good hands with her. She is wonderful.

To address what @headlight said above, color is super personal. H to I may be too warm for @headlight, but for me? Zero difference. I have a large WF ACA in an I and it is white as can be (for me).

If it would help you to see a zillion photos of color as I determined my color tolerance:

Thank you for your insight, the link wasn’t working but I took a look through your posts and your ring is amazing!

I do understand what @headlight above is saying as I do see slightly more color to the 1.31 diamond but I still have to give it the edge because of the slight increase in size. I think it would be hard to differentiate the color difference between an H and I in person unless the diamonds were actually right next to each other but I won’t know until I actually see it in person as I am only going based off the pictures and videos I have from Becca. As you mentioned, with the upgrade program, it takes some of the stress away knowing I can upgrade the diamond if I need to! Thank you for your honest opinion, @headlight.

Hello everyone,

Might be a random question but for those of you who have purchased rings from WF, what are your opinions on the “ultimate care package” 3 year vs lifetime plans. Do you guys purchase these plans or just insure the rings?

I just insure my ring.

I insure mine also.

I insured mine as well.

For me, I insure the items in my jewelry collection that meet two criteria: 1) I wear the piece often and 2) the piece is over a financial pain threshold (meaning it would be a pain in the arse to replace or is just not financial feasible to replace). For me, only three items in my jewelry collection fall into this category: my engagement ring, my diamond studs, and my tennis bracelet. Other pieces I own, while beautiful and meaningful, are not insured. Your pain threshold is a number unique to you, mine is unique to me.

Different people have different views on which insurance company to use. I personally like Jeweler's Mutual. I believe that's who White Flash recommends as well. Higher rollers than me use Chubb, and I have only heard good things said about the company.
