Hi All, It's me again!

I decided to work with a PS recommended Vendor in my area as I find it helpful to see diamonds in person.
  • The vendor is bringing in a 1.73 G Si1 Round Brilliant for me to look at.
  • Per the vendor it's eye-clean, Hearts & Arrows and AGS00.
  • He says he'll vet the diamond for light performance and will confirm if it's eye-clean once it arrives.
  • He will also have imaging (IdealScope and Aset) with a Sarin report ready for me when I come in to see the diamond in person.
My question is, does $16,600 for the stone seem reasonable if all the above holds true? I attached a screenshot of the report for proportions and plot. To note, I covered the GIA number, not the vendor.

I really appreciate your continued help in this process!!! :)

I checked Blue Nile and a search using your stone's parameters (1.7x carat G-SI1 GIAXXX) returned 2 diamonds priced between $17.3 - 18.5K.

For the price of the stone your jeweler called in, I would be concerned the crystal inclusion(s) noted on the stone plot may be dark and readily visible (though hopefully the crystal is white or clear and thus less likely to be visible) -- please be sure to carefully examine it in different lighting conditions to be sure it is eye-clean to your satisfaction.

If it is a PS-preferred vendor, likely there is a solid return policy -- but please ascertain before putting out any money.

Good luck!

Thank you for checking! I'm hoping the diamond lives up to my expectations since it's a Pricescope Vendor and he knows that I want an eye-clean diamond.

The proportions are amazing...plot looks good, so as long as it is eye-clean (especially the needle inclusion under the table) and the ASET checks out (if you want to take that step), then I think you've scored a heck of a diamond at a very attractive price.

I really appreciate your feedback on the proportions and pricing! The vendor says they will do an in-house Aset given I asked for a “price scope quality” diamond…so I guess it can’t hurt to have the piece of mind lol

Good call on the needle, I’ll definitely make sure to scrutinize the diamond. Hopefully this stone performs as expected and is eye clean!

Excellent suggestion on checking the diamond in different lighting. I’ll definitely scrutinize the stone carefully :)
