I have a round brilliant, 1.26 carat, VS1, very good cut diamond that I no longer want. Is it better to keep the stone to trade in the distant future or sell today? What would it be worth?

That depends on so many variables... including whether you are in need of money and if you will have the ocasion to use that diamond in the future. However, bear in mind that, if you do sell it, the price will probably be less than 50% of what you paid for it.

Welcome to Pricescope,

Ditto LD's advice, and sadly it is usual to only get back 30 - 50% of the purchase price paid....

If you do decide to sell it, then this thread might be helpful to you.

Also depends on many variables..., like for example, when the Diamond was bought...

Hi,

I brought the ring in 1993 at the diamond market in LA. I do not need the money. I just thought I should get rid of it due to bad carma. I tried to find a rapport sheet online to get an idea of what to price the stone. I have put in online and have had some interest. I am wondering if it may be priced too low.

Thanks!
