Diamond pricing - need prices as close as possible

Can you recommend an experienced jeweler or a diamond dealer ? Someone who can estimate a diamond as close as possilbe.

How would you find out a true price for a larger yellow diamond ? Any suggestion ? Because Rappaport Report stops at 6 ct. So I have no reference to go by.

1. I was shown a 16.2 ct fancy yellow, radiant cut, VS2 qlty
What would be approx. price per carat or total price?

2. Also a 8.7 ct J-K color SI1 round cut[/b] ? What would be the good price for it ? Please help.

How about a good independent appraiser who have experience in these types of stones? There is a list of independent people under the resourses link above. I'd call a few and see if this is something they are well versed in. These tend to be pretty honest, knowledgable people.

First, there is not enough information for us to tell you much about either stone and value. The round is much easier as there are more like it to compare to, just like home valuations. Comps are the best way to determine market value. If you are buying, the appraiser is the best way to go, not many appraisers deal with these stones. If you are selling, find a jeweler and a dealer who specialize in larger stones to see what the market is bearing on them. The radiant sounds like it would appeal to more people if you are selling. Depending on what state you are in, some states are selling those radiants quite well. CA, AZ, NV (VEGAS), NY, IL (CHICAGO), FL. We get calls to buy or sell much more than the round, although just do so size, the round will find a home as well.
