Hi everyone!

you guys were so helpful on my last post, I just wanted to get opinions/clarification on two specific things before I can be fully confident in this purchase..

1) Does this diamond look cloudy/hazy to anyone? Or does it have good brilliance/scintillation?

2) In the still picture taken inside, it looks almost pure white. Is that normal?

Thanks very much for any and all comments! Super appreciate all of your expertise and backgrounds.

I don't think it looks hazy or cloudy, based on your videos and pictures.

Looks very alive in direct sunlight!

The white appearance is absolutely normal for diffused lighting conditions, where fire is suppressed and brilliance becomes the primary characteristic.

We can only tell so much from a video and pictures...what are your eyes telling you?

This is a very well written article that explains what a “milky” diamond is and its appearance. Might be worth a read.

Not at all saying that your diamond looks milky. Just thought you would like to read for education purposes.

Thank you!

So, I love it and think it’s beautiful, especially in sunlight. My problem, unfortunately, is that a James Allen sales rep told me he saw clouds and circled the ENTIRE table. I learned this after my boyfriend placed the order and freaked out. I spoke with an actual gemologist from JA and she said no way, that he was mistaken, but I can’t unhear his comments. I guess I’m just not very confident in what a diamond should look like. But I really do love it... just wish I had something to compare it to? I don’t know.

Thank you! It’s a VS1 and a feather is the clarity setting inclusion. So I think based on those factors I should be safe?

If it is a VS1, there is nothing to be concerned about. What does the report say about the location of inclusions and what kinds? Your description says "a feather" - from where did JA rep get the cloud? Was he looking at the right report? Who certified the stone? GIA?

Sorry! I should have mentioned if you click the link (I think the preview is a pic/video of the ring outside) I included the AGS certificate. There were no clouds noted on the plot/keys and the comments say “clouds not shown”. I was told this just means they were insignificant in assigning the clarity grade.

I took a head-on screenshot of the rotational video that you posted in the other thread...I see no noticable signs of cloudiness or haziness at all. The arrow shafts and points are black and sharp in appearance instead of bluish-grayish with a slight hint of blurriness.
...the blue that is seen is light refraction or external color reflection and is different than what I mean.

If you have any LED lightbulbs in your home, you can hold the table of the diamond as close as possible to one while looking directly into the diamond from the side profile. I think you'll be able to see that it's perfectly transparent.

You're going through the hyper-scrutinization phase, which is normal with a lot of people. I just went through this for three weeks and got over it about a week ago with my wife's diamond that I bought for her. I was adamant about looking for clouds or any other non-stated imperfections.
After giving it a dish soap and warm water bath and a gentle wiping with a soft bristle brush in all the nooks and crannies, it really came alive and all my insecurities were put to bed for good.

Your stone isnt hazy or cloudy at all. If you love what you see, you are all set.
