Diamond resetting?

I purchased a diamond and setting at two different places. I had the loose diamond set in a third place. After receiving the ring back the diamond doesn't look like it is sitting properly. It looks tilted. Also the prong tips are squarish and I would prefer to have them be rounded to match the shape of the prong tips on side diamonds. I went to a new location to see if it could be reset. I think there was some miscommunication because now they are talking about changing the head to a different design. (More rounded, curved rather than straight) All I want is the diamond straightened out and the tips rounded. I don't want a new head because it will completely change the look of the ring. Is this task possible? Or do they need an entirely new mounting due to the notches they put in the side? Any assistance is greatly appreciated! Thank you. The prongs are platinum if that matters.

There are instances when you may want to reset the diamond in an old ring. Perhaps this is a ring, has been passed down from generation to generation may be a ring is an antique shop to purchase or sale of real estate. Reason to reset your diamond may vary depending on the origin of the engagement ring.

Although I appreciate your quick response that doesn't quite answer my question. Can someone else please weigh in. I have some decisions to make tomorrow. What does a jeweler do when they rebuild the head? Is this an option? Thanks again.
