I change my settings,I don’t like it. Can I get your opinion? The first photo is my current setting the second one is the one I like.FDAF883E-7495-491A-9BEA-6235C4191CC1.jpegCEFB9E4F-17E7-4F71-8367-37638DCB45A3.jpeg

Is that a wedding band that's in front of the ring? Is there anything in particular that you dislike about your current setting?

Yes, that a wedding band I feel like the diamond is set a low.

We really cant see enough to be helpful here. What parts of the setting you dont like with pics showing the issues are needed .

I feel like the diamond sits too low in the setting. There’s no space at the bottom of the diamond. it’ sits flush to the setting.
The prongs are square. I feel like the claw setting is more elegant, and it doesn’t cover much of the diamond.381946F2-DA33-4115-B65F-A1A2F522A1D1.png381946F2-DA33-4115-B65F-A1A2F522A1D1.png

Can you post a picture of the ering without the wedding band sitting in front of it?

You can have a good bench change the prongs to claw prongs.

I can’t the ring is soldered together

From the pictures, it looks like there is no wedding band on the other side. Can you take the picture from that side?

I disagree - it looks perfectly set. You CAN see the culet, it's not flush with the setting. Close, but not touching. To raise the stone will make everything sit higher, and it becomes more prone to smacking it or getting it caught on something - a safety issue.

I don't care for the square prongs either. A good bench should be able to refine them a bit, but if you want true claw prongs, a new setting by a master bench is needed - and that's $.

Unfortunately I don't think you'd be able to raise the diamond in this particular head. The seats are cut already. The head itself MIGHT be able to be replaced - again a question for a good bench person.

I know I can’t raise the diamond that’s why I’m looking to change my setting to this one F1112F42-2D47-4B70-B9AD-155853896E82.jpeg

If you got the A. Jaffe setting, what would you do about a wedding band? I do think the diamond would set up higher but what would you do with this setting and wedding band?

I was hoping to unsolder the wedding band. And use it with the A.Jaffe setting. Probably try to sell the other setting. If not just keep it. It’s a nice Gabriel setting.

I would try to find the new setting at a jeweler that also sold your existing wedding band to try them on together. Sometimes things don’t pair up as nicely as we would like and I would want to know that before I bought the new setting.

definitely, where I got the setting that I have now. They have the A.Jaffe in stock so I can try it on and see if the wedding band fits, I hope so I really like it!!!
