Diamond Stud Earring review (to avoid dull diamonds)

I purchased a diamond earrings in JamesAllen however I returned it because the diamond looks dull and lifeless.

Is this diamond pair, be good to show fire and brilliance?

The first stone is ok-ish. Not bad, but not great either. The second stone is a no-go. I would cancel this order, and let people know your
budget and specs. Wait until you can get a little help from Pricescopers.

Thank you for your help. I was looking for a diamond pair for around $5000 -$5500 usd for 1.8 ctw vvs H color at Jamesallen. Are you able to tell the reason its not great?

Anyone with experience with well-cut stones can tell it's not well cut but for someone who is just starting out you would look at
the GIA report and see that it does not have complimentary crown and pavilion angles. They are both high (35 degrees and 41 degrees).

Here is information on what to look for regarding the GIA report (angles)...Go down to the box marked Member Recommended Proportions*

The other way to find well-cut stones is to use the search engine at the top of the page. It will show you Well-cut James Allen stones.
Look for an HCA score oF "EX".

In the meantime, here are a few that fit your criteria (one is strong blue which is usually not an issue)

Here is a link that will narrow you down to better-cut stones at JA (not all of them will be acceptable though).

Thats really helpful, I like the high flourecense but I don’t want to buy an SI diamond.

Thats fine...but SI1 diamonds are often eye-clean and they are in your ears where no one gets that close to view them.
I would take a well-cut eye-clean SI1 stone over a not-well-cut VS+ stone (but you do have options at VS+ so go for it)!
