I have just upgraded my 2ctw diamond studs for 3.4ctw studs. I am stressing that I have gone too big. I am shocked at the difference. Looking for reassurance that I haven’t made a big mistake. Has anyone ever regretted an upgrade? Thinking I should have gone a bit smaller -maybe 3ctw.

I would love to see a pic as I’m planning my next stud upgrade to be ~3tcw (currently at 2 tcw). I bet they’re gorgeous!

I’m not sure if 3 tcw would look too “big” either!

I will say having just upgraded my engagement ring that I quickly got used to the size. So I think same for ears!

Definitely a first world problem. I think part of the issue is I am actually feeling a bit greedy and self indulgent having gone so big and spending so much. I will focus on being grateful.

I think 3 ctw would be good. I will try and post pic. They are extremely sparkly.
 
I went from 2 ctw to 3.8 ctw super ideal cut studs and I love them. After wearing them for a couple years, I'm beginning to want larger. I have medium-sized earlobes.

Thank you for posting this. I have medium to large earlobes too. I am sure I will get used to them. I was just so shocked at the difference when they were set and in my ears. Then I started second guessing myself and thinking of the money I could have saved going to 2.5ctw or 3ctw. They are an amazing cut and sparkle like crazy. Scored very well on HCA.

Also can I ask how you have your earrings set? I like mine close and flat on my ear and I think mine are sticking out a bit much.

I went from 2ctw to 3.15ctw and have no regrets. Well, except that I wish I'd kept the 3.43ctw that I first went with but thought were too large. I realized afterwards that it was likely the setting. I went with the 6 prong martini with the 3.43ctw and had to squish them in my earlobe to make them look good. If I wore them loose, they drooped a bit and hung lower than my earlobe making them look too large for my lobe. With the 3.15ctw I have the flat-bottomed crowns, same as @RunningwithScissors. I even sometimes wear the 3.15ctw with halo jackets and it does not bother me a bit at how large they are.
 
I also like them sitting flat. I have changed the backs of mine to some cheap big plastic backs and they are sitting really well. It has made all the difference. Thanks so much. I will try to post a pic

Thanks so much. All your jewels are absolutely beautiful. I have now changed the backing on mine to some flat plastic discs that I have and they are sitting really flat which I love.

I have confidence you will get used to them
Quickly. I just got 4.23 ctw, from wearing no diamond studs for 5 years. Took me half a day and they shrink down to size. Hope you enjoy your lovely new earrings.

Nope . Mine are 3 CTW and for my lobes I could not go any larger. I just recommend giant push backings so they don't droop.
