Getting my first Diamond studs custom made by Ivy and Rose. It will be a little over 1.50 ctw with close to 6mm spread. I’m having them made in a tulip setting in 14K WG with 6 claw prongs. It will be friction back. I’m wondering if there’s any feedbacks on the CAD. I’m wanting them to not “stick out” too far from my lobes.

Is a 5mm pretty standard?

Is there too much negative space at the bottom or is that space needed for better light return?

Just make sure there's enough space to clean between the setting and the diamond - earrings get ickier than rings do

Light return is from the top of the stone.
Are you happy with the way this design takes away from the stud looking round? It has more of a star appearance to me. Also, I feel the mounting overtakes the diamond.
But it may just be me… I like a diamond stud to appear as if resting on the lobe magically and not have a lot of metal.
Earrings should not get dirty like a ring unless you are wearing them when washing your hair, swimming, etc., and I would strongly advise you not doing those things while wearing diamond earrings!

I do wonder if the CADs make them look bulkier than they really will be in real life. I’m loving the intricate gallery, But I’ll probably let them know to have the prongs stick out less on the sides if that makes sense. I like the way this one is looking. 3A3E4D10-09E3-41FB-8C95-7A30B714726C.jpeg

I love the ones in that photo - gorgeous! I’m excited for you!

Some updated CADs that I’ve approved! IMG_0016.jpegIMG_0017.jpeg

Setting made to be a bit more delicate, and they will have petite claw prongs like these. I’m so excited!

I love the setting! I will tell you that I had screw backs on my studs and immediately hated them. I bought the Chrysmalis backs with the disk and love them. Just FYI

AGREE - screw backs create a myriad of problems!

I’m having them made with friction backs!

Not the best quality pic, but sneak peek from Ivy and Rose. I’m not sure why the diamonds appear to be showing a tint, they’re F color. Anyway, I can’t wait to see it in person next week!! Eek!!!

These are the most amazing stud mountings I have ever seen! I'm so happy for you. Absolutely incredible in every way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
