So before I ask for help on diamond choice :)... I thought for sure I was going to go for platinum, but I recently saw rose gold bezels and they seemed to have such a sweet warmth to them...=)2 what do you think :) ?

Sorry a more specific question : does the tone of the metal influence diamond choice ? ex color ?
Sorry I'm still very much getting used to the finesse of the diamond world :)

Not sure if this will help. The ring is 18k yg and the stones are E-F. The earring is platinum and the stone is maybe a K. The other variable as this glaringly shows is that cut can make a huge difference. Those step cuts look much more yellow at an angle than they actually are in bright direct light and the K OMC has very little tint at all face up.

Platinum for sure. It will make the diamonds look larger than they are. A rose gold bezel will almost disappear on most ears. Plus platinum is a neutral and goes with everything whereas rose gold might not.

I am a rose gold lover. But in my ears I want my stones to look as bright white as possible So platinum is my suggestion

I love bezel set, it's a modern touch in my opinion. Saw these studs on JWS that I though you will appreciate :) Screen Shot 2021-09-20 at 4.41.29 PM.pngUnique Studs

I think you could go either way and end up with gorgeous studs! It really comes down to what you prefer and the look you are going for.

I was recently debating this same question and reviewed some similar threads; I think the most conventional choice is platinum, but I really love rose gold as well, and so I decided to go with rose gold bezels for my G color studs. The settings aren't done yet so unfortunately I don't have a picture to share -- but I figured that if the YG bezels were good enough for Angelina Jolie, then RG is good enough for me :D

One of the main reasons I picked RG bezels is because having rose gold studs will tie in well with my current/planned collection (platinum e-ring setting, will be purchasing a two-tone steel and rose gold watch, and will be doing a set of eternity rings, one in platinum and one in rose gold, and rose gold bangle). And this is kind of a weird thought that is probably unique to me, but I didn't want to pretend like my studs are bigger due to the platinum bezel, the rose gold bezel just seems more deliberate.

Anyway, good luck with your decision! The studs below are from Tiffany, maybe you could stop by a store to see some bezel-set studs in person?

Also, when I quickly checked this thread on my phone earlier today, I thought I saw a gorgeous pair of RG bezel studs posted -- if so, then whoever that was should post them again!! :kiss2:

Although platinum seems the popular choice, I would do rose gold. My engagement ring and wedding band are rose gold, so the rose gold would match my own personal style more. How much of your collection is rose gold?

I generally don't like the colour of platinum, especially on my skin. So, I would hate that near my face.

It purely comes down to personal preference though.

I think if you are setting in a rose gold bezel you can go warmer color for stones than you might with white metal. I have a small pair of studs set in rose gold bezels and the stones are K with faint brown. The studs I have set in white metal prongs are ACA's , I color (and I'm happy with those). Here are the rose gold bezels. You can see the warmth, it's just a matter of whether you like it or not. (photo from DKJ)

Platinum is a good and safe choice.

If the studs are large enough though, rose gold can look quite charming too.

If they are smaller studs though, definitely platinum because it will look bigger and more seamless.

Thank you all so much for your thoughtful replies :) !!
I own a mix of rose and white, I feel like platinum looks a bit grey on my skin, I actually prefer silver on me :)
I haven't decided yet but, although I understand that platinum would be the conventional wiser choice, my heart is still leaning towards the rose gold =)2
Thank you again for your answers :)

The wiser choice is what makes you happy, not what others tell you it is. If you want rose gold, get rose gold. Some people have preferences for one metal color or another. I don't. I have studs in rose, yellow and white. I like them all. Go with your heart.
