DF..before i forget i just wanted to post...re: an old conversation we had about white summer capris and how hard it was to find good ones!

today i got two pairs. one is a halogen pair at nordies and the other is a pair from american eagle. the AE ones are more cargo'ish summer weekend and SUPER cute for $40. the halogen ones are a tiny bit more tailored with wider hemmed bottoms, but they do have the EVIL see-through-the-material pockets in the frontthat we talked about previously so i am going to try my hand on cutting them out. these were $50 at nordstroms savvy or tbd dept, i can never keep the depts straight.

in any case, i got both, because i can wear the slightly more tailored ones to work and the other ones on the weekend...but thought you might like to check out the AE ones in your next shopping trip. they are SUPER cute on and flattering as well. they have front patch square pockets and back ones too but they don't have that icky pocket outline. both are the thinner kind of cotton material, not stiff so they lay pretty nicely. jcrew also has a pair that i tried, but they were not as flattering of a cut as these other two were for me personally.

i'm so jazzed, because i have tried on a bunch of them previously and they always seemed either unflattering or with funky pockets or too thin to wear solo (aka see through) but both of these fit all the positives with the exception of the halogen pockets i plan to cut out. so now i have two pairs woo hoo. the AE ones are a no brainer for me with fit and cost. they are more 'off white' than stark white whereas the halogen ones were white. so anyway, in case you are still looking...!!

Mara, it is funny you should mention AE, I have been in there a lot lately buying a ton of stuff for my older two boys for the summer and noticed some cute capris and got myself some, in khaki and stuff, and got a pair of white ones with a belt. I got some cute shorts too, but actually had to go in today and get a smaller size, returning all my first purchases, because the 2 percent spandex in this one style made them stretch SO MUCH they literally and I mean literally were falling off of me. They had fit fine in the dressing room last week and boy there could come off without being unfastened today. I''d like to think my new Cybex and my Topomax for my headaches are really helping me to lose some weight but even the manager at AE was shocked at how badly they had stretched and took them back no questions asked. I really like some of their things, I think as long as they look flattering I can get away with it, and their boys stuff is awesome for my 12 and 14 year olds...

I still wish I could design a white pant in a great couple of styles and fabrics, one dressy, one more casual, that is NOT see through, but is chic and comfy. I really do not see how we put men on the moon and cannot come up with an option to make a nice white pant that is well designed and flattering! I have to check out the Nordstrom ones too, shame, I was just in there today too... but thanks for the heads up!!

ha ha i know you kind of have to wonder, how hard is it to design a flattering pair of white pants?!?!?! actually both of these are very flattering on me in different ways. neither of them are see through which is good and both have butt patch pockets so they flatter your butt too hehe. the one thing that i really don''t get is the front pockets on the halogen ones, it''s like WHY WHY WHY right?? so we''ll see i have not yet cut them out...i just washed the 2 of them for our trip tomorrow. now if miss paige of paige premium denim would design a pair of white capris i think they''d be fabulous! hehe. since i love her jeans.

i love shopping at AE and AF for fun summer cheap summer clothes...definitely some cute finds. i also got a cute bikini there the other day. i have such a wandering eye for bikinis that i try not to spend too much so that i can buy more than a few, hahah.

I am way past bikini stage three kids later, but love some of the ones I see. I just got some great hudson white jeans and the funniest thing is I think they make me look so thin, and I would never think white jeans would do that. they are thin fabric, more of a white poplin and not a denim, and I love them, but I am not sure if I want to wear them with heels or lower shoes and what color shoes to wear them with. I know it seems stupid but I am really having issues here! I tend not to be a solid white shoe girl unless they are strappy, in which case I think they are too dressy for these pants. I do not like all dark shoe with a white pant either. These pants are sort of nicer than all casual and more casual than dressy, so I am not sure what to do with them, but they looked so awesome I had to do it. What is the exact name of the AE style you got? I got some capris but they did not have pure white, and the white I got yesterday had a green webbed belt with them. Where are you going? Have a fun time!
