do a Boudoir photo shoot?
emembarrassed.gif
(or plan to)

I'm even embarassed to ask...lol. I'm just very traditional and so is FI...but I have to admit, I'm seeing some of the pictures some of the girls from my local board have taken and they look awesome. There is nudity or anything like that (at least not any in my local board!). They look very elegant and artistic.

I am contemplating the option....to then give it as a surprise to FI. Who knows what his reaction would be...he might just laugh out loud!! haha

But I'm tempted, it looks like fun..and it's something I wouldn't do later in life...and I might never be in this good of shape again, lol.

Thoughts?

M~

ETA: This is one of the photographers in my area that the girls on the knot have been raving about http://studiobycarmen.blogspot.com/
ETA2: I don't like the guitar photos, but she has some other ones in her archive that I like...
ETA3: Here is the link to those sessions: http://studiobycarmen.blogspot.com/search/label/Boudoir%20Session
Ok, no more dits...hehe

I'm planning to! I'm not sure that FI would care either way, but I've done shots like this before (for other purposes... which he's not such a fan of) and would like to have a few specifically made for him.

Oh Thank God someone responded..
haha, I was starting to go look for a hole to plant my head into it...

Are you giving the pictures to FI as a surprise? If so, when? (like before wedding, afterwards, etc)
I think it should be fun and if anything you get a good laugh, right? hehe

I'm not sure... definitely a surprise, but I can't decide between having them "delivered" to him during the getting-ready before the wedding, or after the reception is over, or on our way to the honeymoon, or when we get to our first hotel... What are you thinking?? And what are the local board girls doing?

ETA: I doubt there will be ANY laughing, Mandarine! I've seen your pictures and you are one hotty patotty. His jaw will drop!

I just e-mailed my photographer to see how much she would charge for a session. I think I would feel comfortable with her...but I don''t know if she has done this before and I would need some direction on posing. Don''t really know how to pose like that without feeling/looking like a goof ball.

Let''s see...if it''s not too expensive I might just do it...

lol Musey, thank you!!!

Maybe he won''t be laughing but I will...haha

Most girls are giving it as a surpirse a few days before the wedding...one girl did it after the honeymoon (but because her pictures came in late). I was thinking the day of (or night before)...since we won''t be having a rehearsal dinner and we will be sleeping in our own houses that night. So the entire next day he can be thinking "I am going to marry THAT babe" haha (I say babe because all the girls from my local board I have seen look like babes!).

I''ve got a better idea...buy the sexy linger and surprise with with a camera...ask HIM to do the shoot!

The photographers who are experienced with it will know JUST how to put you in the mood! They know how to make a girl feel pretty/sexy/photogenic

Probably the first 40-50 will be kinda awkward/funny, then you'll start relaxing and getting into it.

So are we gonna see proofs on PS?
31.gif
haha, keeding of course

P.S. For me, the expense is totally justified... Mine will probably end up in the $5-600 range. Even if he doesn't appreciate them enough to get your money's worth, just THINK how good you'll feel at 85 looking at your boudoir shots. I'm channeling "old" Rose in Titanic, here

haha Musey
I think you''re right. Just like in the e-session at the beginning we were feeling silly and then we got more into it.
No proofs here..lol!!
Are you going somewhere special? (like a hotel, or studio, etc)
Thanks Musey, your input really help!!!!!!.

Haven't decided yet, I probably won't shoot them until next spring or summer. A lot of the photographers here have their own studio setup for this kinda stuff, so I'll probably shop around a bit

I think definitely NOT a hotel, though. I have weird germ paranoia about hotels!

yes, my thoughts exactly. Most of the girls here are going to a hotel (granted it is a cool looking room) but nonetheless, I think THAT would definitely feel weird.
Thanks again

I would love to do it for my FI- I know he would really like them....I am going to ask my photographer is she would be interested in doing them, but I am unsure if she has ever done something like this before. I am thinking I will do it for a Valentine''s day or 1st anniversary gift....

I have seen these shoots before and it looks really fun!! I just have a dumb question: what do you do with the pictures? I mean, do you hang them on the wall? I don''t know if I would feel comfortable with that...although I would probably change my mind when I''m 50 and have had 3 kids!!!

Just wondering...what do you guys plan to do with the pics?

LOL...definitely won''t be hanging mine on the wall!.

What I have seen, it''s a book (or a black box) with the prints of the pictures). You don''t really *do* anything with them...well, at least not that I know!...haha. Your FI might
31.gif
...lol, j/k.

You just give it as a surprise and then he can hide them just like he probably used to hide his "magazines" when he was a kid...lol.

B-pics from our photographer were an option, but my husband didn't really like the idea. HE said he'd rather just take the photos himself and that he wasn't sure he wanted anyone else to see me frisk around in lingerie. Plus he too wondered what you actually do with them.

I dunno. I think b-pics are more for the girl than the guy. I think it would be fun to have a photo session where you feel like a totally sexy celebrity posing in all those pretty little outfits. It seems like it would be very good for one's esteem, plus it would be nice to have the photos to look back on to remember when you're 64 that, YES, at one time, you really were that hot (kinda like on sex and the city when Samantha has nude photos taken to commemorate her hotness). But, I think me would really rather just see the real thing than have a stack of photographs in a drawer somewhere, you know what I mean?

Anyway, do them for sure if you think it would be fun for you!
Since my husband wasn't into the whole b-pic idea, I didn't go for a session, but my photographer did take a few b-pic-esque photos before the ceremony. I have a few of me in just my veil and my "something blue" (from the back) and then one other one from the front, but they are classy, not provocative or anything. It was fun, but I felt...hmmm...exposed.

I wish I had the nerve!!!

Hubby has been asking for some since we were married! I thought about doing some for his bday... but, talked myself out of it. Maybe TGal''s idea is better for me. I can''t imagine being serious, though, as I am always a clown!

LOL I didn''t want to respond while I was at work =)

I think its an awesome idea. I am definitely going to have some taken and put in a nice book for fiance.

I did some in college (I was dating a photo major) and Fiance saw those and liked them so I think he will really enjoy ones made special for him

Well, I think they are really cool and classy!

But like others have said, I don''t know what you would actually DO with them.

OK, you know what I think would be hotter (and a little less cheesy) than panty pics? Bikini pics! Like those Sports Illustrated swimsuit ones. Bikinis are way cuter to photograph than underwear, and it''s sexy without trying as hard. Plus I think a natural background like the beach would be so much nicer than some faux boudoir background. These would still show how hot you were when you were younger.
2.gif

An added bonus would be if someone found them, it would be far less embarrasing!

Here''s the best example I could find that wasn''t, er...too revealing...

SIpic.jpg

Heh hehe. I just asked fiance if he would still want sexy pictures of me if he lived with me and could presumably see me every day. He said "of course!". I asked why. He said, "so I can look at them while you''re at work or out shopping or away on a trip!"

Maybe I underestimated a guy''s reaction to these. Something to think about for the future, I guess!

I will only do it if I knew I would have fun with it...no point to do it otherwise!...hehe. I have no idea what FI would think as he may say the same thing as Fancy''s FI....but I think maybe once he sees them, he would change his mind! lol.

Anyhow, thank you for sharing everyone :)

TG - I do like the swimsuit photos too, but if I''m going to do this, I''ll do it all the way! lol. Meaning, wearing the lingerie (and probably covering more than that bikini was! hehe). But who knows, I may change my mind. I just can''t see myself posing at a beach with all kinds of people around...

Hey Mandarine..

I kind of did a "boudior style" photo shoot the day of the wedding before I put on my dress...

I had found a really cute pair of undies that I wanted to wear under my dress... but couldnt because you could have seen them.. soooo I wore them before putting on the dress.. and the photog took some pics...

My hubby didnt know about it.. it was a surprise.. and very tasteful.. and when he received the pics, he LOVED them...

A few years ago I posed nude as a photographer''s model and really liked doing it. I was a fair amount heavier than I usually am do to some medication, but the pictures made me feel good about myself. My FI loved the pics and we keep them in a "special" box in our closet so he can always find them but our families don''t.

I have a few suggestions. I posed for a male photographer which made my Fi REALLY uncomfortable. I would love to do it agian but for his sake I would use a female photographer, so that is something to consider.
Most of the time they will have you sign some kind of waiver. Read it carefully because it may allow them to use your pictures in their portfolios/adds, etc. I did not mind this but if you do, talk to them before signing anything.
The third is make sure you give yourself plenty of time. For the first 45 minutes I was really uncomfortable and it showed in the picture. I actually didn''t mind the nudity, but I hate being in front of cameras, or atleast I did up until the shoot; I actually like getting my picture taken now, all because of some photos I did three years ago! The later ones came out much better is my point.

I can understand your hesitation, but if he loves you then he thinks your body is beautiful and there are few gifts better then giving him a permenant record of your body at its best!
