Difference in "sparkle" round vs. oval?

I love the sparkle of a round diamond, but I'm wondering if I can get the same effect with an oval cut. What do you think?

Also does cut, symmetry, depth %, girdle and all that apply to oval diamonds as well or only round?
(basically all my research thus far has been on round diamonds so I'm wondering if I can use it all for oval as well or if there is other stuff I should know)

Oval diamonds by definition have length > width = oblong shape = bigger possibilities for facet obstructions and other whacky light things that can lead to visual changes -- like bow-ties. Or something like that...

I did a quick google search and found this: http://www.original-diamonds.com/education_proportions_pear_chart.php
I know the link says pear, but it's for ovals too. I don't know where they're getting these proportions from (and I'm in the camp of "an oval is a fancy shape so use an ASET + Idealscope"), but the numbers might be informative to you.

HTH!
