Hello ladies,
So I''m technically still a LIW, but FF and I have recently been discussing wedding dates and colours, and I figured, where better to get advice than from my fellow PSers who have planned/are planning!

I''ve always dreamed of having a fall wedding, as it''s my favourite season and I love how the temperature is just perfect. My problem? I don''t want traditional fall colours for my wedding (browns/reds/oranges)... it''s just not me! Now, I realized its our wedding, and I''m sure many people will say ''you can have whatever you want'', but I was curious if any other brides have used non-traditional fall colours in a fall wedding. I LOVE the look of cream/blush/pewter/purple (though not necessarily all together), and have also fallen for damask/accent colour... I just worry that having colours like these would look odd, especially if we have outdoor photos when the foliage (we live in ontario) has changed to orange/red.

Any suggestions? And pics are always appreciated :)

you can do whatever you want! im getting married outside, in mid november. we are using navy and light blue with all white flowers...hydrangeas and peonies (assuming the price is right on the peonies...for this time of year they have to be flown in from NEW ZEALAND!!! arg). i def think you could do purple and blush...in fact that sounds like a really pretty fall color scheme. the only colors i would steer clear of would be a combination of light pink/light green/yellow, but i think you could pick a spring or summery color and pair it with a dark and be ok.

I am getting married in October this year and we''re using navy blue and silver with the bouquets being white, bluish purple, medium purple, and yellows. We definitely didn''t go for fall colors!

i agree, i don''t think a fall wedding necessarily means fall colors, i actually had a friend who used fall colors and she got married in the spring, so it''s really what you want

What about gem tones?

But I agree with everyone do whatever colors you want!

I was originally going to get married in October, and my colors are (and were going to be for Oct) pool blue and green apple green.
Some people looked at me quite strangely when I told them the colors I wanted to do, but it''s your day, so do what makes you happy!

My friend who got married last October had light blue and chocolate brown as her colors. The bouquets were typical Fall colors and flowers, but otherwise the color scheme wasn''t Fall-specific at all.

I got married in November. Our color scheme was pink and burgundy. It looked elegant and festive.

i agree that you should do whatever you like!

i think that pewter, purple (plumish) and cream would be beautiful. i''m using those colors myself (but maybe a lightened purple) for a summer wedding.

I''m glad to hear so many of you have gone with non-seasonal colours! The more I''ve been browsing on the internet, the less it seems like you have to stick to any traditional colour scheme during a particular part of the year :)

I went totally non-seasonal with pale blue and chocolate as my colour theme - in March!

If I were to do it again, I've seen some amazing weddings with navy using yellow as an accent colour, or platinum and yellow.

I think your colours sound like they could be lovely used in the right amounts, so draw up an inspiration board and see what you think!
