Difficulties with Multicolour.com

Hi all,

I'm having significant problems with a couple of orders from multicolour.com, and was hoping to seek advice on where to go to from here, or to see if anyone has had a similar experience.

I've bought previously without issue from such people as Jeff Davies, All that Glitters and Mineral Miners, so I'm a little stumped by this.

Basically, my daughter enjoys making her own gemstone jewellery as a hobby, so I ordered a few modest stones from multicolour.com for her to use. This took the form of three orders via the website. I made the transaction late last year, and one packet arrived fairly promptly, but nothing since.

As far as I can tell, just the one order has been fulfilled.

I've emailed the owner at least four times through the website to clarify, but haven't received a reply. He may have left a telephone message for me during the recent Queensland cyclone, but, probably due to the cyclone, the message on the answerphone was so crackly and garbled that I couldn't tell what the person was saying. It may not even have been him.

Since then, I've emailed him again about two weeks ago to say that if it was him on the phone, then I didn't get the message, but no further contact. It's getting a little tedious constantly typing messages into his website contact form!

I'm a little perplexed as to what to do now. The sum involved is very modest, just some small, cheap aquamarines and such like, and would be south of $100, but I do find this to be a strange approach to customer service - to simply ignore your customers and hope that they go away! I wouldn't even know if the stones were not in stock, have been lost in the post, or have just simply never been sent. It's baffling.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had had similar experiences with multicolour.com, or could offer any advice on a way forward.

Whatever the outcome, they're not a company that I'm likely to return to based on this buying experience.

Thanks for any guidance.

I'm not so sure that emails always get through to them via their website. Are you emailing through the website, or with a distinct email address? I think the website needs updating, as it tends to be slow.

Did he provide tracking numbers for your orders? If he sent them by registered mail, that can definitely take a while.

I would try his direct email address. I am not sure if we are allowed to post it, so I apologize ahead of time if this is against PS policy:
[email protected]

There wasn't a tracking number sent to me. To be fair, they weren't pricey stones, so that may have been an attempt to save me expense I guess.

Thanks very much for the email address. I'll give that a go and see if I get a response.

Best wishes,

Gadaph

Oh my! Gadaph I am sorry you are having trouble with Multicolour. I love looking at their site. They have sooooo many beautiful stones. I hope this works out in your favor. :appl: .

Thanks, PattyCo!

Good news, I think: I tried the email address which pregcurious kindly gave me, and received a response from the owner within a few hours.

It seems that TL was correct and they have had some recent problems with messages arriving via the website going astray. He has checked the packages, which seem to have tracking numbers of which I was not aware, and can see that they have not been delivered. He described some issues with the Thai post in January, which may be responsible.

Anyway, he responded rapidly, and has offered to replace the undelivered packages, which I guess is all that one can hope for from a business, and is certainly good customer service.

I'm just a paramedic, so we're not from the high end of town by an stretch of the imagination, and the sums involved were very modest, but it is still nice to be treated as a valued customer, so I feel much better now, having heard from David.

Thanks for your help and guidance all.

Best wishes,

Gadaph

Good luck, Gadaph. David is a very reputable vendor and I am glad to hear that he is making it right.

I am so glad, Gadaph, that it has all been worked out. Thank you for your service to those in need. I hope you will post some pictures of your daughters "hobby". We always love photos of all things sparkly, lol!

Great news all around with kudos to Pregcurious for the direct email contact to MC. :appl:
