I am such a donkey when it comes to DIYing!!! Ey-ooooooooooore!

Seriously ladies, my hat goes off to those of you that can whip up invites and programs in a jiffy. It has honestly taken me HOURS trying to figure out the correct print order for our programs. I have a freakin science degree with honours and I have had so much trouble trying to figure out which page to print next to which page, and then which other pages to print on the reverse side of those, so when I put them all together, I just have to fold the whole bundle and they open like a book. I am such a doofus!!!!

And please don''t tell me that MS Word does this for me!

I had tried bookfold, 2 sides per page all that stuff, and I still had trouble.

Anyhoo, three hours later, about 100 pages of paper and half an ink cartridge gone, I finally have ONE PROOF!

- and only in black and white, not even on the right paper etc!

How do you ladies do it? I see so many of you making gorgeous DIY projects for your weddings and I can''t fathom the time it must have taken you.

Ok, vent over, off to have a drink!

Honey, I spent $150 on quality paper and 5 hours attempting to make DIY engagement party invitations- I nearly ripped my hair out!!!

In the end I just purchased them, because I really cbf. So don''t feel bad, because it didn''t work for me either

No idea hun - hopefully someone can help

LOL! I''m sorry... your post made me laugh! You''re too funny.

Yeah, I''m pretty much staying away from DIY on anything that really matters to me. I''m a perfectionist and would have gray hair by the wedding if I tried to do it. I''ve done DIY small stuff (like favors for the engagement party & hand made thank you notes).

Don''t do it if it makes you angry. DIY is "supposed" to save money and give you a hobby, but sometimes... it''s just not worth it.

Thanks ladies! I have calmed down somewhat after yesterday. I think the hard part is done. I know exactly how the print them now, in which order and how to feed the printer, and I only have 20 or so to print, so I am going to forge ahead. I can''t justify the outrageous print costs to get them done (50c - $1 per page! + paper). So my quick math = 20 books, 10 print sides per book = up to $200 bucks, not worth it IMO.

Anyhoo, so glad I don''t have to DIY anything else!!!

my suggestion is to save your files to a flash drive and take them to a printer...their costs are minimal especially when you are supplying your own stock! I''ve done everything DIY so far( I need to post the pics, save the date magnets, invites etc)....but I always have everything professionally printed. FexEx Kinkos does a great job and they are pretty reasonable.

You would think hey? I took it to a printer and even with my own cardstock/paper it was going to be in the realm of $200. Maybe it''s cheaper in the US?

DF just came in and told me he wants to add another page to it! Does he have any idea how long that will take me

I hear you Honey! If it wasnt for my Fiance''s computer skills then I wouldnt have DIY''d. The booklet thing in a home made pocketfold was a nightmare, but well worth it in the end. We chose a lovely paper that for what ever reason repelled ink! Whats with that? and once we got it to work it was so confusing trying to print it up the right way! A test on teamwork for us- lots of swearing and cursing but a fun crafty thing to do together as a couple.

oh gosh, you are definitely not alone in this department, i swear there were days when i wished i had paid someone else to make our invitations and favors

who knew with all the wedding planning, that it''s this DIYing that would stress me out the most?! ok only because the guestlist has finally settled down. yay!

I DIYed all the paper stuff, but mostly cause I love doing it. It definitely involved hours of formatting trial and error though!
