Do the "hosts" send themselves an invite??

Totally idiotic question, right? But my parents are "hosting" therefore, "I" probably don''t need to mail them an invite, do I?

I mean, obviously I will have a few extras, but should I mail them one addresses to Mr. & Mrs. Dad Magsy only to open it to read "Mr. & Mrs. Dad Magsy request the pleasure of your company at the marriage of their daughter...?"

Even though they obviously don''t NEED one, I''m sure your parents would appreciate getting an invitation to the wedding. It''s an exciting event for them too.

Ditto! I mailed mine an invite even though the RSVPs were going right back to them.

And since I mailed the invites out about 5 weeks before the wedding my parents decided to be smart asses and RSVP "NO" to me! They wrote on the RSVP that they made other plans since they didn''t get the invite in time!

Oh, I think you should send them an invitation!

My mom sent an invitation to herself, to me, and to DH. She did our calligrapy, so I definitely wanted to have one sent to me, and so did she!

Ditto.

Gahhh, okay, so funny! Can I not include a stamp on the RSVP envelope since it is going to their house??! I refuse to send myself one! I''m bleeding money...

I hand-delivered the one to my mom, she filled out the reply card, and handed it back to me in the span of about twelve seconds, haha. My father and stepmother, on the other hand, never even RSVPed to my wedding. Good thing I knew they were coming since they were a party of 12!

Yep, I would just hand deliver it so they could have one.

I think it''s appropriate. Be sure to send one to the President and First Lady as well. You''ll receive a nice congratulatory card (well, I did when Dubya was in office anyway). It''s a nice keepsake to have.

I think I need to send my extra wedding invite to the Obamas then... even though it was last year. Oops!

I would send them one. My ILs and parents both wanted theirs to hold on as a keepsake.
