Just wondering if you always wear them together or if you sometimes wear them seperate.

I have done both. In the summer time I wear the e-ring alone since my finger swells up in the heat. In the winter (or when I want to look married) I wear both. However both could be a simple 2 mm gold band (my favorite), a simple 3 mm platinum band (for the two tone look), or an eternity ring with diamonds all around, or the matching diamond bands I had made for websailor and I.

I wear my promise band pretty often alone, and sometimes together to give the appearance of being married. I plan to wear my band to bed, most of the time anyway, and when working with my hands and wear my ering during the day.

I would try a variety of ways to wear my e-ring and w-bands. Just the e-ring when my finger gets fat in the hot summer days. OR... e-ring with 1 or 2 bands in the winter. OR... just the band(s). Oh heck... knowing me, I'll probably change them everyday.

I have a question... Do you wear your w-band on the inside of your finger and follow by your e-ring or vise versa? I've seen both ways.... I'm a little confused... is there a right way to wear them?

My wedding band, a simple 2mm platinum band, never comes off. My engagement ring is put on before I go out, and taken off when I come back home. On Wednesday I actually forgot to put my engagement ring on : O and I kept looking for it all day! I never wear the engagement ring without the wedding band. I had planned to when I first got my engagement ring (about 5.5 years after getting married) because the wedding ring I already had did not go with my engagement ring. My husband was not keen on my not having a wedding ring with the engagement ring so I really never take the wedding ring off now that I have one that matches the engagement ring.

I wish you well,

Bridget

I wear my w-ring on the bottom (closest to my heart), and e-ring on top. In most of the jewelry catalogs, the wedding ring shown on the bottom of a set so that's how I wear it.

HI:

I find myself wearing my plain 2mm wedding bands (one 24k and one platinum) a good deal of the time, but almost never with my solitare and eternity ring. I don't always remember to put my diamond rings on when going out socially or to work, and make a point not to wear them when active (golf, daily exercise, etc, etc), so my beloved plain bands get a lot of use.

cheers

i too have seen mostly the you wear the w-ring closest to your heart(sooo romantic!!!)and the e-ring goes on top.
i have seen brides that switch it for the wedding day, so that they can wear their e-ring during the wedding. i have also see brides on their wedding day put their e-ring on thier ring finger on their RIGHT hand during the ceremony and then they place it on the LEFT hand AFTER their new hubby has placed the w-ring band on BEFORE it.
i guess it is a prefrence, and its YOUR ring.
do what you want with it!, but SHOW THAT DIAMOND OFF
and for the newlywed gurl, show off that wedding band with pride!!!

oh, by the way, i NEVER take off my e-ring. and when i get married...(hopefully soon!)i will definatley NEVER take off the wedding band. i ONLY take off the e-ring when i put on lotion, paint, or do hands-on cooking like bake bread, or other activities that involve dirtying my hands. oh yeah, to clean the ring too! thats kinda hard to do on the finger. i LOVE my ring and i would DIE if i lost it or it got stolen. whenever i DONT have it on, and suddenly realize it, i get scared that i misplaced it or lost it or something like that.
anyone else feel that way?

I specifically got a straight diamond band (7-stone, 5-pointer) so that I could wear it alone if desired, but so far, I'm too in love with my beautiful engagement ring to wear the band alone.

I imagine there will be times, though, when it will make more sense to leave the "heavy artillery" in a safe place, and then I'll wear just the band.

When I wear them, the band always goes on first, followed by the e-ring.

My ring combination was also choosen so that I could wear my band alone, which I frequently do. It's nice because right now I'm doing numerous home repairs and wouldn't want to risk damaging my diamond

Also, while I was pregnant, during the last trimester IN THE SUMMER, my fingers really swelled up and only one ring could fit on my finger so mostly I wore my band.

I also got mine so I could wear it separately, 2.3mm eternity ring on it's own. It looks beautiful that way too, but I usually only do that when I am just kicking around the house or when I'm rushing out to the store and haven't showered etc..I just throw on the wedding ring rather than the whole kit and kaboodle if I am going to come home and shower or get ready for something.

I find I don't love to wear the wedding ring alone, I prefer both rings now. I'm just more used to it. But if I want that option it's there.

Wedding ring is worn first, closest to the heart as others noted, and then e-ring. I was confused originally too.
