I am curious. Do you ladies always wear both your E ring and wedding ring all the time? I got my first wife a very nice Burma Ruby and diamond E ring. She loved it and helped picked it out. The wedding ring she picked out was very simple and elegant (less showy than the E ring). She felt the E ring was only to be worn on special occasions. I guess she felt it was too special or dressy for normal workday wear. So she only wore the wedding band everyday.

I guess every woman is different. Just thought I would see you gals had to say.

I usually wear both the E-ring and the wedding band, except when I'm doing something like gardening or cleaning then I don't wear any jewelry.

I plan on wearing both (once i get the wedding ring)

but my bands are fairly thin at only 3 mms a piece...

I wear the e-ring alone during the summer and both during the winter when the e-ring tends to spin around on me. I also wear both when I want to make sure I look married e.g. this weekend when we leave town for our 7th wedding anniversary.

I wear both most of the time. I like as much sparkle on my finger as possible even if they are small sparkles.

Sometimes I'll just wear a wedding band if I'm travelling and don't want my e-ring stolen or lost. I never wear jewelry when I'm cleaning or gardening.

I've had a few friends who only wear their band and save the e-ring for special occasions, but most of the women I see at work wear both.

I plan to wear both unless sleeping or Im working with my hands then Ill take my Ering off. I will also be wearing the promise band too at the bottom of the stack.

I have a three-stone ring and I wear it alone -- I don't like the look of three-stone rings worn with a band as it is already a "banded" look, IMO.

I wear mine together and hardly ever take them off. I got comfort fit simple for that reason. If I don't have my E-ring on DH gets freakish.

My original gold wedding band was flushed down the toilet some 13 years ago. I got a replacement one and wore it with my .25 ct solitaire and even had them soldered together. Now that I have a new larger platinum set solitaire, I don't yet have a band to go with it, so I'm wearing it alone. Someday when we can afford it, I'd like a nice plat band and I would wear them together most of the time. I'm looking...

Um, ususally I wear my rings a few weeks on a few weeks off, sometimes, just my wedding band, but never my solitaire alone as it spins. When I was pregnant with my first child, I couldn't get the darn things over my swollen fingers during the second/third trimesters as the heat and pregnancy cause me to have chubbier fingers so I didn't wear anything at all! lol I sometimes take my rings of while cleaning and cooking and other times leave them on and let the grease make my diamond slightly gunky. . .then I wash it just to admire the difference a good bath in amomnia can make.

All women have different levels of comfort, but MEN seem to have more an issue with women taking their rings off

My husband admitted to being annoyed when I don't wear my rings, even though he doesn't show any interest in jewelery. . . he told me once he moved my rings from a place I set them to make me think I lost them so I'd panic and start keeping my rings on more. It didn't work and I think i just forgot about them for a couple days and focused on my earrings instead. hahaha

No. My w-ring never gets taken off, unless I know it's going to get damaged, but my e-ring I put on and off depending on different circumstances and where I'm going. I also never wear my e-ring around the house.

Hest, just curious, why not?

I only take off my e-ring when doing the washing up or when I'm in the shower because I hate getting soap 'bits' in the ring. Other than that, I always wear it because I love it so much.

Bar, I just want to point out that your wife's ring may be better saved for special occasions only - a ruby is nowhere near as durable as a diamond, and if she's worried about scratching or damaging it, it sounds like a wise decision. Also, it sounds like a beautiful but very dressy ring - do you know what I mean? I wouldn't wear an elaborate ruby ring with jeans, but I would wear a diamond.

Rowan, do you mean why don't I wear my e-ring all the time? When I'm in the house I'm often doing things--cooking, washing dishes, etc.--that are going to make the stone yucky and greasy or bang up the shank. Much easier to take it off than to clean it all the time or worry that my cast iron pan is going to slam into the stone. It also gets in the way. I don't want it snagging my hair when I'm in the shower or catching on my clothes or anything like that.

Hest, oh that's understandable. I was wondering why you didn't wear it aroud the house at all. I can totally undertand that. You sound like a busy person. I can relate.

I wear mine most all the time. My set is soldered together and I put them in the ultrasonic cleaner while taking my shower then back on again. The only other time I take them off is to do major project work (painting, gardening, etc.)and when putting on hand cream.
