Do you ladies/gents wear white diamonds at all?

I know it's weird to post this thread in the CS forum but I am so curious!

As a bunch of colour loving enthusiasts I was curious to know what you folks think of normal white diamonds?

Are they part of another collection you have or you don't care much for them and don't bother?

I like matching coloured stones with my outfits but only really got into coloured stones a few years ago. I have a few basic white diamond pieces which I like because I wear them on days when I'm not inspired to try and match my jewellery with the colour of my clothes. They are lovely, sparkly and neutral so easy to wear but I'll admit the colours are where my heart is at. I LOVE my colours and am a colourful kind of girl!

I started with colored stones (never had diamonds in old country), and I am afraid I never developed real taste for colorless diamonds. I love diamond settings and antique pieces with diamonds, though.

I am very much interested in colored diamonds, but still looking. Good deals seem rare, and I don't want to overspend.

I think that sapphires and rubies are pretty hard stones, and likewise, spinel and chrysoberyl are extremely wearable. This gives us choices. Not only diamonds are forever.

I have the usual stuffs... Solitaires, tennis, studs, suites....

I have old cuts and brilliant cuts but I also like clean rose cuts....

And I have polki (diamond slice) earrings...

I only wear one ring on my right hand, and it is an EC diamond in an air line/gap diamond halo.
I also have other diamonds only pieces that I wear regularly.

DK :))

Only as melee as an accent to colored stones. I had one large white diamond solitaire and I sold it. My mother's diamond e-ring that I inherited sits in the bank.

I do like colored diamonds.

I have a 3 stone diamond ring with yellow diamond halos around the 3 white ones, (actually they have some warmth which I love). I also have diamond bands and a tennis bracelet. I only use them as accents to go with the colored stones. I love the sparkle but I don’t find them as interesting as my favorite CS. I know I will inherit a lovely diamond ring, but I doubt I’ll wear it much. All of my diamonds were gifts. I never really specifically picked out a diamond piece.

Diamonds are gorgeous in older pieces and I admire them greatly on others, but personally I don’t find them fitting for me in the same way. I’m also not a fan of the artificial value. Colored diamonds are a different story altogether. I would specifically chose one but I doubt I’d find one in a size and color that I’d love AND could afford lol.

I love warm diamonds in lower colors. I do wear my L color diamond solitaire ring a lot. It's set in yellow gold.

Yes, I wear them when I want to underplay my jewellery at work since they are smaller than majority of my CS.

But I find myself reaching out for them less and less as I acquire more and more CS :Up_to_something2:

I never take off my diamond solitaire engagement ring that I wear with my wedding bands. I wear diamond studs a lot (first anniversary gift). I have a couple of right hand rings, one of which was my great grandmother’s. I also have a diamond solitaire pendant my husband gave to me for my 40th. I’ve got enough now. I just want colored stones!

I have a princess cut that's currently set in a platinum setting that I'm going to have reset for a pendant. It's been kind of a tough couple of years for me personally so I prefer to have color on my hands, makes me happy. Plus I can swing multiple colored stone purchases which I would never be able to afford in diamonds.

Like Stephanie Lynn my colored stones make me smile. I have a vintage diamond set that shows lots of sparkle but is a bit tight these days. Enjoying my bright spots of blue, red or hot pink spinel plus a glowing green tourm.:kiss2:

I wear my U-V OEC every single day, as well as my OEC studs. I always combine it with a CS ring on my other hand. I love my diamonds; they are part of my 'basic staple'. The CS rings is where the real fun starts!!

I wear both. Some days it's just white diamonds but most days it's color of some sort.

I'm terrible. I only wear my love bracelet Bc it's stuck on me and my diamond studs every so often to keep my piercings open.

I have a bunch of colored stone rings I had set years ago that wouldn't even fit nowadays...

I'm terrible with earrings. I love cute dangly ones but I am so lazy to change them I bought two pairs of diamond hoops that are comfortable to sleep in, one pair in yellow gold and one in white gold. That's all I wear! Studs irritate my ears for some reason.

I love variety and get bored with things easily. Colored stones allow me to change what I wear daily to match my clothes or mood...and because I don't wear them every day, I seldom tire of my CS pieces. While I would love to add a nice sized well cut diamond ring to my collection, I can't justify spending what a nice diamond would cost on one single piece of jewelry.

My ER has sat in the jewelry box for decades as I don't love it (my husband let me pick it out and I was too self conscious about $$ at the time). I do have a diamond cluster ring that I wear when travelling as it goes with everything. I also have WG and YG diamond bracelets because I can't afford to make separate bracelets matching my various CS rings. Last, I have small diamond studs and jackets - although more often than not, I wear the jackets with colored stones. That being said, I often think when I retire, I might be less inclined to change my jewelry so often....maybe then selling off alot of my CS pieces to buy an everyday diamond ring would make sense.

What if we all use CHROMOTHERAPY, the mood-lifting effect of colored stones? Because I also catch myself making photos of pictures in museums.

014.JPG I love diamonds. My love of colored stones has increased my appreciation of lower colored diamonds. You can see the progression- from top to bottom, G, J, and N colored diamonds.

Sorry the pic is so big. I resize them but they still come out huge.

Yes, but they are also a bit unusual (EC and old cut). Even so, they are rarely worn.

This was the first bit of news I woke up to today & it seems to fit here:

Yoram's instagram shows rather well what a different animal diamond colour is !

WWW

The diamond looks respectably yellow, while elsewhere FIOY & FVY manage to stand up to the classical colour depths of ruby WWW & sapphire WWW ,-)

Just a thought ...

I lost my diamond ring years ago. I haven't replaced it because I found a love of CS gems. Now, the only diamonds I wear are the ones in a halo surrounding my sweet CS babies.

I wear both every day. When I wear just white, I miss the color. When I wear color, I miss the white. First world problems!!
