Hi Guys

I am after a big pink tourmaline! With NO brown!

I am chasing something like my big blue green one but in pink. Now I need to think what pinks I find acceptable. Brown is not one of them as my giant pink zircon is dusty and I don't want anything looking similar.

Here is one that I like but I see brown! Do you?

I see colors that maybe could be described as brownish there. Closer to orange in the top video and closer to salmon in the bottom one.

I do like those pinks though, perhaps because I like salmon, coral and other similar colors.

Yes, sort of an orangish Brown. Not an ugly colour by any means.

I feel like I see a "burnt orange" that could be interpreted as brown. I love the colors, but if anything even slightly brownish is out of the question then maybe this won't quite be why you want.

See this is my zircon ring which can display those tones and I don't want the same looking giant stone

Thanks ladies! If anything, the fact that I am asking raises some alarms for me as I am usually one to go off and buy stones ASAP without question.

Are his stones a bit windowed? the Gemland vendor. Tourmalines are a shocker for windowing I have learnt!

Or should I settle for something smaller? Like a 2 carat?

I can wait. Hubs says to go wait for a giant 4 or 5 carater.

I REALLY want an asscher as well! There is something about a giant asscher!

It is a shame the background is so brown in the first photo. But it definitely is not your best bet if you want a saturated stone with no brown. I would pass.

It’s a gorgeous stone but I do see brown. Perhaps search for something more rose pink or icy pink instead of a peachy pink.

What some people call brown others call orange or peach. But sometimes there is a grey (or brown) that makes a stone darker but doesn’t add to the richness of the color. It’s a little sad or drab. You can see this in house paint colors, including some that are meant to be sophisticated. You are saying you want pure colors, which are more vibrant and joyful.

In the first picture I think the stone is picking up some of the brown background. It looks peachy and I like it. You might need to see it in real life to know for sure if you like it.

This may have been said, but I find with pink tourms that the orange comes out in real life rather than on camera. Looks like a beautiful stone, but I think seeing it in person would be the best thing.
