I''m just wondering what others have done or will do after their ceremony. I can''t decide what I want to do -- leave my veil on or take it off. I *think* I''m going to have my hair half up/half down and attach the veil in the back, so I''m not really worried about it getting in the way.

I took my veil off after the cocktail hr right before we walked into the reception. When I said hello to all the guests during cocktail hr, everytime someone hugged me they pulled down my veil from the back more and more, so by the time that hr was up it felt like it was coming loose anyway. I just figured that I would be dancing, etc at the reception, so I would feel more comfortable with it off at that point....

I''m taking mine off after the ceremony.

It''s from 1880 and I''d be terrified of anything happening to it.

I am taking mine off after the ceremony and some pictures :) Too much for my small reception, I think.

I took it off my face before the reception, but instead of removing it completely I bunched it back with a few bobbypins and instead wore it as a "pouf" of sorts on my low bun. This worked famously, but only because it was a teensy birdcage to begin with!

i took mine off after the ceremony and pictures at the church. i wore my hair in a low do and had a cathedral length veil. there were no hair problems. the veil came off with ease. i also liked that i had 2 different "looks"

I''m going to take mine off before the reception also. I don''t want to be standing on it when dancing!

I''d love to keep it. But I went from elbow length to fingertip and I don''t know if it''ll be cumbersome... We''ll see there, I guess!

I''m leaning towards taking it off after pictures before the reception begins. I hadn''t really thought about it getting pulled every time someone hugs me, but it does make sense. I''ll just have to make sure the veil comes off easily and the comb doesn''t get stuck in my hair. Thanks gals!

Gosh, I hadn''t even thought of that. But I think I will take it off after the ceremony.

I wanted to keep in on the whole time, but about 30 mins into dancing it was just too hot, so I took it out - right about the time our photographer left, actually - so it''s on in all my pics except for the candids my friends took. I miiiight have left the little pearl comb in, I can''t remember.

I took mine off shortly before we arrived at the reception--only because I forgot to do so after pictures. I also forgot to bustle my train, so that happened at the reception too.

I have to chime in because it seems like I''m the only one that DIDN''T take it off! I LOVED my veil and it was horrifically expensive so I wanted to get my money''s worth! I wore it all night and didn''t take it off until I got to the hotel... and I wanted to keep it on for the after party, but it didn''t really go with my t-shirt! I didn''t find it cumbersome at all, and it ended just before the hem of my dress, so I didn''t step on it. I think it got pulled once or twice during a hug, but it was in tight, and I pushed it toward the center of my back, not around my shoulders.
