This is going to seem silly, but does anyone else on here wonder about the stupid details of your proposal? HAHA I''m talking like what your wearing, makeup, having a bra on. haha I''m always so nervous it''ll happen when I look the worst, and then I''ll have lovely pictures of me looking nasty as a memento! haha

I DO worry about that!

I''m hoping that my boyfriend has the common sense not to propose to me when I''m walking out of the shower and mascara is running down my face. lol.

He knows that I like to look good, and especially for a moment like that, I''m trusting that he knows better than to propose when I feel gross and unsexy! If he didn''t know better, I''d make him redo it. LOL

I don''t know if you watch Scrubs, but when Keith proposes to Elliott on the show, the ring doesnt fit. So she tells him "Honey, you know I''m crazy right?" and when he says yes, she goes into all these details about how her hair is, how she says "yes, oh my god, yes!" and with a certain inflection, and the ring fits perfectly.

So he lets her plan her own proposal and he redoes it like a few days later. haha.

Maybe if youre the type who makes a ring book, you should put a list of inappropriate times to propose. lol.

BF also needs to not propose when I''m on my period, or he''ll miss out on some SERIOUS post-engagement nookie!

So am I weird that I don't care about this? I mean, I want it to be special, but how I look has never really crossed my mind. Maybe its because I don't know anyone who has pictures of the actual engagement, so I don't expect to have any, so my appearance won't really be recorded at all, and thus doesn't matter.

ETA: In fact, I don't want a dressed up ordeal--thats not really "us." I told BF that it would be just fine if his proposal involved farm animals or car engines. It really wouldn't bother me if we were both dirty or greasy or whatever. Maybe I am weird.
 
I don''t worry about how I will look...I''ll most likely spend the first 15 minutes making kissy faces (LOL), the next 15 calling my closest family/friends with "OMG" and then an hour getting ready for my proposal pictures. LOL

I''m more worried that he''ll do it in front of other people. I am so shy and I know its going to be awkward. I was in Central Park with my bf while visiting NY and this guy proposed to hig girlfriend (they were both in the middle of running) in front of everyone. It was so beautiful and perfect and everyone cheered...but then after there was this awkward silence that came across everyone. No one knew what to say or do so they couple just kept running. LOL

I''m with you, Laine! I so rarely dress up (or even wear makeup) that it''d almost be more indicative of our relationship if he proposed while I was in jeans with no makeup on. Granted, then I''d dress up to go out to dinner, but I don''t mind what I look like when the actual proposal happens.

I can''t say I''m really worried about it I mean I don''t care if I''m mess when he actually proposes as long as he gives me some time to get ready before we start celebrating. I know that right after the proposal we will be calling all our siblings and friends and going out to celebrate so I''ll want to look good for that but for the actual proposal I''ll be so excited that it''s happening I know I won''t care what I look like.

Maybe if we start sleeping in our bras and full make up, we''ll have a better chance of having it happen sooner. Ha!
 
LOL! I heard an interview with Jenny McCarthy once where she said that she slept in a push-up bra after she had her baby because she didn''t want anyone (including Mr. Carey) seeing her with droopy boobs.

I have a feeling my guy will propose when we''re in our PJs lounging around, so I''m not that concerned about what I''m wearing. I do hope I have on makeup, though. Haha.

I''m most concerned about my fingers. Yeah, really, haha. I have a habit of biting the skin around my fingers when I''m stressed (sometimes it gets really nasty!) so I hope that he does it during a time when they are looking normal. I don''t want everybody looking at my fingers when they look really bad!
 
I''m a non carer as well. He can do it whenever he feels the need. Heck, if I''m wandering around the house nakey I don''t care-although I think it''d be weird, but whatever. Knowing him he''ll probably do it when I''m in sweats, so I''m not too worried about it.

And FYI, when he asks we''re cutting off all contact with the outside world for a couple of days-not telling anyone right away and just bask in post-engagement happiness by ourselves for a bit. So if all of a sudden I''m not on PS for a day or two...you guys know whats up. Especially being that I''m always on here.
 
Ladies, I am past caring when, where or how it happens, I just want it to happen!! I''m sure whenever it happens you will be so thrilled that you won''t care about any of the things you are worried about, apart from maybe wearing a bra....... as a lady of rather large *ahem* cup size I would find this a problem!! Hee hee!!
 
I''m not longer a LIW, but I too have wondered about this. I generally don''t wear makeup or dress up much, but if I knew I was about to be proposed to I would (just for the pics). Well, FI proposed to me while I was in my pajamas, no makeup, and right after I''ve been cleaning (not looking so hawt

). Both of us were bawling by the end of it, and I''m sure it wasn''t a pretty sight. Let me just say I didn''t care, and I thought it was perfect. We didn''t take any pictures until the next day. When it comes down to it, I really doubt that most people would care.
 
lol what a funny post... yes, i''ve given this some thought too. I hope it''s when were out somewhere special and were somewhat nicely dressed... and I told him I have it would be cool to get it caught on camera and definetly have a camera on hand!

I have crazy wavy frizzy hair that I ALWAYS straighten. If he proposed with my hair all frizzy I''d be devastated! (I have a weird thing with my hair - I don''t know why!)

I didn''t care. Good thing as well. Our proposal was very us. We had finished take away pizza and were getting ready for bed. No bra, no make up, wearing PJs. Then again, I wear make up about twice a year so no worries on that front.

Until now I''d never thought about it. I have no photos from that night and if I did they''d be of us where you turn the camera around on yourself. Those photos rarely turn out well and are always from the neck up. Guess I''m a low key, laid back type of person when it comes to this.
 
Kris would probably like it if I wasn''t wearing a bra!

I have crazy very curly, frizzy hair that I always straighten, too! I used to wear it curly when it was longer, but I got it all chopped off (like, really really chopped off) and now I get up early to straighten it to make sure no one sees my ''fro!

I totally understand having a weird thing with your hair, I totally do too.
