Hello. I've put this diamond on hold and am hoping knowledgeable PSers can give me feedback:

It's for the BGD handmade fixed bezel pendant:

It's a hearts and arrows diamond, so I assume the cut is excellent, but I'd really appreciate feedback from people on this forum. I don't know how to assess things like leakage and light return. Also, I've never had anything lower in color than G. Should an H diamond of this size look white in a bezel setting? Thank you.

The stone looks great. You cannot go wrong with BG. The stone is from one of his signature lines. Ask for videos but it is his BG H&A so that should look great. H color will still be white (especially in this size) so you can go with a white bezel setting.

Thank you! That is great to hear.

Lovely!

I used to have a pair of small BGD studs (0.63 tcw) in H/I color set in a platinum bezel (photo of actual studs here, in case it’s helpful for you to see the color in context). With the excellent light return of BG’s signature-cut stones, and the smaller size, the color was not very noticeable from the front view.

The bezel-set pendant you chose looks like a classic! The only thing that comes to mind with that design is to ensure you wouldn’t mind the protruding culet (on the back side of the pendant) touching your neck.

Thank you! The photo’s so helpful - the stone looks really white to me. I tried on the DBTY at Tiffany, and the culet didn’t bother me. Hoping I’m not bothered by the culet on this BGD pendant.

guaranteed winner with BG! Best of the best!

The videos are now available. I'd really appreciate any feedback. I don't know if you can tell anything about color from these, but I'm hoping it will face up white in a white gold bezel. TIA.

It looks beautiful...but, no we can not tell anything about color. It is an AGS stone.

Thank you, tyty. Do you have to see a diamond irl to know how white it looks?

Well, yes and no.
If you have a good feel for the AGS color range you'll have a good idea of the color. What color is the stone in your avatar?
Thats an AGS stone, correct? An H would be considered fairly white to most people. Will it be blindingly white? Maybe not.
I think you'll have a hard time seeing much tint in it due to the size. I have a .46 super ideal J and I don't see the color in
(because its just not big enough). I just see the white light return.

Have you seen this video?

Yes, the stone in my avatar is an AGS G. Thank you for attaching the video. And it’s very reassuring to hear that your .46 super ideal J looks white!

I have a super ideal I color that looks very white

Honestly, as previously stated, the stone is a WINNER. As for color, know that it is an H, not an E, as example. Hence, at the upper end of near colorless. Also, in a super ideal, it will be the best looking an H can possibly be. One of the solitaires in my avatar is a BGD H color. I see a “hint of tint” but keep in mind I am VERY color sensitive. Also, that stone is much larger (2.32 ct). Furthermore, the other ring in the avatar is an E color, as are my studs so I’m comparing to E. You will be fine, especially in that size. It will be gorgeous.

what was the cost on it, if you dont mind? its very nice.

This is so helpful! Thank you.

I have BGD Signature stones in my studs. Just over .6 each. One is J and one is I and they are very white (to me). Here are pics. They are the larger main hole studs.

To me, those look blindingly white. Thank you for posting the pics!!

Thank you. It’s $1198 for the diamond. They give $100 discount to new customers, so $1100.

I have an H and it looks bright white to me. I say get it!

Thank you. It’s so helpful to hear from others that their H stones look white! I’m going to order it tmrw:)

cant wait to see it on your hand!

I'm so happy with my pendant! I really appreciate everyone's help with this project. I'd been concerned about the H being white enough, but it's very white. It's so sparkly, though, I think all you really see is the sparkle. The chain and bezel are extremely fine, just as I'd hoped. It was nerve-racking buying non-refundable jewelry without seeing it in person. I'm grateful for the helpful input!

So glad you're happy with it @swingtime ! I'm sure it looks lovely on you...we do need more pics! You can post over on SMTB
thread. I think there are some pendant/necklace threads if you don't want to create a thread of your own.
