Does this Leon Mege emerald ring look like it''s been treated?

I've been looking for an emerald ring that doesn't have any visiblle flaws (as close to flawless as possible) and I saw this one. I've had it bookmarked for a while.

I can't post pics so here's a link : http://www.artofplatinum.com/4images/details.php?image_id=276

Even though it's not from a straight on angle , I don't see any flaws.

I posted a pic of it on another forum and several said that , because of the color and because they also didn't see any flaws , that it had been treated.

So , I thought I'd ask the experts.

What do you think?

Thanks so much.

Define treated. Do you mean oiled or filled with other substance? Most emeralds have been oiled and this is an acceptable practise. Why don''t you ask Leon himself since he purchased the emerald and set it? Only he knows the answer whereas the rest of us are just guessing based on a picture which really isn''t the right way to access a gemstone anyway.

Hello Chrono ,

Thank you for responding.

I should do that , I''ll write to Leon and ask him.

(I''ve already e-mailed him a few times so , I was worried he''d be sick of me by now. lol)

Hey, if he wants your business, he''ll answer your inquires.

Crap, I just noticed a spelling error but it''s too late to edit. I''m so ashamed to admit that it should be "assess" not "access". Sorry.

It''s hard to tell somehing like that by looking at a photo. Better ask :)

It''s hard to tell from the pic. I love, love, love, that ring, though.

I love that ring too, let us know what he says.

I''ve asked him about this ring about a year ago, I can tell you that he said yes, it is oil filled. He was quite testy when I asked him if it was treated in any way and he reluctantly admitted it was oil filled like every single emerald is always oiled (I dont think they all are), but I do believe this is why this one looks like it has no inclusions...FYI, he''s dropped the price about $3k since last year....I decided an emerald isn''t stout enough for an everyday ering though...But it is a pretty ring isn''t it?

I have seen this ring in person and have taken pictures of it. The emerald definately has inclusions, not like the picture shown on his web site, but that's the beauty of natural emerald if that's what you are looking for.

If you want a perfectly no-inclusion emerald (that's affordable), it is prob better to buy created emerald.

Emeralds can have lovely inclusions and some are in fact prized for them.
