Dear PS'ers,

I currently own a 2.24 cushion in a halo setting. As you might see on the pictures, there is the tiniest airline between the stone and the setting and it really bugs me (crazy, I know...) . I was thinking about having it reset in a double halo (Tiffany soleste wise). What are your thoughts on this, given the size of the center diamond?

Thank you very much in advance!! =)2

Your band is quite large, so I think a double halo would give you a more balanced look. It’s a lovely ring

Seeing your other jewelry, I guess you can rock a double halo.

I would only reset it if it can be perfectly executed. For that I would contact David Klass, Brilliantly Engaged or Victor Canera

Double the love!!!!

Throwing out an alternative - pink and white!

I'm not sure. Your band is really stealing the show and I see it way before the ering. What if you went with a halo that better-tied the two designs together and would fit more flush with the band? But, I like the idea of including some more rectangular stones and an octagon outline in the halo.

This has an airline, but that is easily fixed by the designer.

You can also re set the stone by making a new ring for the diamond. it looks like the jeweller used a ready made casting ring rather than making a ring for your diamond

If I may suggest another option... how about just putting your diamond into a simple clean solitare. Your eternity is getting all the attention and when I look at the photo, the eye first goes to the eternity, then it goes to the pave and finally to your diamond. To me, that gorgeous diamond is lost.

For me, I like my diamond to be the star. Maybe a simple solitaire setting. Then the eye will go to your eternity and then on your big rock!

Just a thought.

I agree with @Miki Moto ! Solitaire or single halo... your cushion is fab and big... I would personally do solitaire... show off your diamond and your EC eternity band. I think a double would make everything get lost

I also would redo a single halo. Victor Canera for sure! Many members here have his Emilya or Anne Marie pave settings. He's a pave master! (But he does double halos well, if that's what you really want!)

It originally was a solitaire

I personally like it as a soli best, the setting is so dainty and it makes your fingers look amazing. The single halo would be my second...though maybe with stones that are a teeny tiny bit larger?

With your eternity, I think that no matter what the eternity will steal the show, it has commanda attention and has a lot of presence. Rockysalamander's option of commissioning a single halo w. Elements of the eternity would be my option if you want to wear them together. But please be away that this will most likely take over the entire section of your ring finger.

I love your old setting! So here is my two cents:
Number 1 choice would be to re do the band to some sort of side stone that is a step cut... ie, French cut. That’s of course if you want to re do the whole thing and it’s in Budget:)
2- solitaire setting
3- single halo
But of course you have to go with what sings to you! Looking forward to final decision

Oh I love the old setting! It looks stunning! It do whatever will make you happy. VC is an excellent recommendation. David Klass is also great and his work is at a lower price point.

What would be the purpose of a double halo? Do you just want more finger coverage? What is the most important thing to you? Finger coverage or just that you want a well done single halo without an airline and you are doing your due diligence to consider all your options before you commit to redoing your halo? I love Victor Canera for a halo. They are extremely delicate and the workmanship is extremely fine for either a single or double halo. If going with a double I would definitely choose Victor so it doesn’t look clunky. Maybe you should consider his single halo with a halo around the edge. Let me try to post a picture. This gives you a single halo but you get to see diamonds when seeing the profile which is a view you see all the time.

I'll echo the others....the eternity band is over powering. Your e-ring is gorgeous in both the soli and single halo setting. I wouldn't change that. I'd buy you a different wedding band that better compliments what you have.

Hey OP, I think that this would be pretty sweet if you wanna go that route...more bling, and it sounds like he's offering :mrgreen2::mrgreen2::lol::lol:

@sledge, hope you don't mind I have a little fun at your expense...work is currently BORING!

I'LL TAKE THE OLD ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
LOL, NO WAAAYYYYY!!!! You keep that beautiful eternity band for all of eternity, you hear me???!!!???
:)

Just to clarify... I would redo the cushion band... not the EC band! Just to better match the EC eternity if you want to keep them on the same finger

LOL @metall. What I never told any of you is I had originally planned to buy my girl a 2 carat rock, but she balked at that idea. She wanted 1/2 carat at most. I settled at basically 1 carat. So now I have all this cash laying around. My vault is full of guns already so I have nothing to spend it on. :liar:

So what you're saying is that now you're really loaded and can spend on some of us poorer folks at PS? Cool! Good to know....I call dibs after @Bloempje! (Just beware any sapphire fiends with mean hubby's! :lol-2:)

In all seriousness though, have you given thought to a mens diamond ring for your wedding band? There's a show me the mens ring over in smtb situ some amazing ideas that you can take advantage of.

+1, here @sledge!! I’m sure my DH won’t mind you spending a few thousand bucks on me (and saving him the money)...lol!! :lol-2:
I agree: why not a men’s bling ring? Do you dabble in diamonds for yourself?

HI:

Thritto to a well made halo. Single, double or triple....it is in the execution.

PS.....I loved your original setting! And FWIW...you eternity ring is stunning..but, in short, it isn't the best combo with your present ring. Both single rings....on their own....

cheers--Sharon

I actually love this, and thought of it as well, but I'm afraid I will get tired of it eventually. :)

Something like this, perhaps? :) https://www.leonmege.com/portfolio/three-five-stone/three-stone-ring-pave-detail
Love this as well, but I think I'm more a halo kind of girl. ;)2

I wasn't happy with the current halo and then I saw the Tiffany Soleste with the double one and I was so impressed that it has been on my mind ever since... I'm afraid if I will go for a single halo again, I will regret it later on...

I was indeed thinking of adding a thin band with round diamonds and baguettes (somewhere down the road) to "match" my eternity on my right hand. =)2 Something like this: https://shop.grewandco.com.au/products/nina

I think a well made single halo can make all the difference in the world. I still adore mine!

MY GOD, this is gorgeous! So well done!!! :kiss2:

The Leon Mege would definitely tie in the EC band. However, I have a feeling you really have your heart set on a halo. In that case, I say Go for a single halo with maybe a different color metal for the band, if that sings to you. Definitely look at Jean Dousset’s site... AMAZING! And then wear the EC band on the other hand, You will have a showstopper on each hand!
