I've been looking at Dover for a setting for my spinel. Someone linked to one in my thread last week. And I got a reply from Dover today and wanted to look at the setting again.

This might not be the right forum this. But if you google dover jewelry, the results say that the site may harm your computer. Now that might be a google safety warning for some reason. But I went to Dover this morning. And my web browser was sort of taken over and appeared to be doing a scan of my computer. I didn't see much before I freaked out and closed my browser. I saw that it said something about the town I was in. Here is a screenshot of my google results. I'm on my work computer and don't want to get it infected. Thoughts?

I''ve seen this before, and had the weird spam scan. I ran my virus software right away after, and it didn''t find anything, but that means little. It might be worth mentioning to Dover (since you are in emails with them) that their site is showing up like this in Google. Maybe they don''t know and can fix it.

Yeah I thought about sending them an email. We run a virus scan on our computers every monday morning. It didn''t find anything either. I agree it means little. I was just wondering if anyone else was noticing this?

Hm.. I just got the exact same Google results that you mentioned. I decided to go a step further and actually go to their site, and got the following warning after having clicked on one of their links. I''m not sure what to make of it

This is the first time that I''ve had a problem with their website. FWIW, I was using FF. IE doesn''t seem to have the same issue, as far as I can tell; however, it is acting a little funny when refreshing the site/with pages loading.

I am using IE. That was what I was using as well when the scan thing started. That makes me nervous to go back there.

I got the exact same "attack site" warning here at work. Dover is definitely infected.

Hmmm... odd. Symantec AV updated yesterday does not see any problem, though the Google note is still there.

I emailed Dover. The replied that they, along with McAfee, are looking into the problem.

The warnings are certainly scary enough to halt further progress.

Same thing happened to me last week. The scan started identifying trojans. It all looked very scary. When I ran my AV software (Bit Defender) it found a virus in a file that hadn''t been activated since 2003, yet it had never found it in any previous scans.

I won''t be heading back to Dover until I hear that they have a clean bill of health.

Dover emailed me just now and said they have resolved the issue.
