I want to reset my BGD in a three stone with tapered baguettes. I really don’t know what to look for here. Any thoughts? 310BF52E-B16B-4297-99DB-783A2E290939.jpeg

This is entirely dependent on preference, but I might ask for the shank to come up smoothly to meet the bit that holds the baguettes on the end. Other than that I like it! Is that the shank width you want, and do you want any gallery embellishment or are you fine with plain (better for cleaning as it is)?

Do you have any pictures of what you want your ring to look like? Nothing looks* wrong with the CADS (to me). I agree
with @distracts . I'd prefer to not have the bars sticking up at the bottom of the baguettes.

How big (carat weight) is your center? How big are the side stones?

Agree with the above posters about my preference for the bar on the shank side of the baguett to not stick out.

My taste is also for the bar on the center diamond side to be more hidden, or for that bar to be tucked "under" the girdle of the center stone. Or too have two tiny claw prongs, also tucked under the girdle so they're not visible from the top.

Leon Mege does this setting exceptionally well (style r1216, for reference this is with 1.3ct center)

I agree about the bar holding the baguette at the diamond head. I had David tuck it somewhat under the head with the tiniest bar that’s not noticeable at all..I did want a little bump when the bottom of the baguette meets the shank for a little something..I also had him make the shank 2mm thick. It came out a little thicker than that..I love the feel..It’s all about what you like…I can’t wait to see yours!

David has made some changes. Rounded the band a little more and larger baguettes. I am not sure if I like the less tapered baguettes but it’s so hard to visualise. Any thoughts? I decided against having the ends tucked under the stone and I also like the little bump at the end as described by mamabee. D3BBCFDC-88F4-4C1F-B76D-616998496CA3.png

This is totally up to personal taste (aka your opinion may vary from mine) but I prefer the more tapered look with the slightly smaller baguettes in the original design. These ones don't compliment the center stone as nicely, and kind of distract your eye away from the center stone.

I agree with @emmy12 and prefer the proportions in the first CADS. Other than that, the rest hasn't really changed and you've
already heard my opinion.

I think the baguettes in the new CAD overwhelm the center stone. I much prefer the first CAD. Is it your preference to keep the ‘bumps’ at the beginning and end of the baguettes?

I think the big question is are you going to wear it with a band and, if so, what is your expectation about how that will look and how it will feel.
I say this in context of tapered vs straight.
I’ve been down this road in the past - no right or wrong way. Just need to think about your vision.

Yes I have a band. I plan to get another probably u prong 2mm half eternity. Pic of my band and stone I am resetting here. I don’t need the band and the ring to be flush. 00FE2CA6-4F2B-48E0-B016-3A9F09A7DCF3.jpeg

Yes I think so. Visually I prefer this style with bumps.

I like a bit of a band/bump. These rings I like the bump. David has said the finished ring they will be less prominent as well. Mine is .85, dimensions per the CAD. I don’t know how big the side stones are - only the measurements on the CAD.
