Hi all - I visited my first dress shop, and I found 2 that are fab. I'm trying to decide between the two, or if I should go to another shop for more options.

Option A is $500, Option B is $800 - both within my range (I was hoping for ~$750). I'm not too sentimental, and just want something flattering for cheap

Both fabrics are nice...option A fabric is stretchy/satiny, and B is a synthetic silk shantung. A is lighter, B has more layers and is heavier. Luckily they both fit pretty well so the photos are close to what the actual fit would be. And they both were relatively comfortable/secure. Option A would get a little dip in the neckline and Option B would get another layer at the neckline so the ladies aren't on parade.

Oh, the wedding is scheduled for 2pm on a Sunday in September.

Be honest, and thanks for letting me know your opinion!

I voted for A. I think it is a bit more flattering on you. However, I really do like the uniqueness of B. You really can''t go wrong either way...they both look great on you! How do you feel about straps? I find that most people either want them or don''t...

Between these two, I''d go with A. To me, it just seems a little more classic and timeless looking. Both are pretty though but still, I''d opt for A if it were me.

I love A best on you, it looks great.

They''re both nice, but I think like the others said, A is more flattering. I think it defines your waist more. Lucky you to fit into the samples perfectly!

If you aren''t 100% sold though, keep looking.

It''s a no brainer for me: A looks gorgeous on you!!!!!

have to go with a as well. I think it looks great on you!

LOVE A! It is so flattering!

Hi Piccola! I''ve just been through the same thing - it''s hard to tell what looks better on yourself, right?

Dress A gives you more curves and flatters your figure more. Dress B is nice, but I don''t think it does much for your figure - I think you look broader and boxier in Dress B. Please don''t be offended - I just want to give an honest opinion.

A all the way. It fits your figure perfectly! It looks very appropriate for a 2:00 Sunday wedding.

I love the classic look of A, cleaner lines, etc.
very flattering to your figure

I like the neckline of B on you but it seems to have ''too much going on''overall if that makes any sense.

while both are pretty, i like A better-

and the fact you mention that it''s lighter- go for it-

Thanks to all for opinions and compliments! You''ve reinforced my opinion...dress A is definitely more flattering to my waist. And what dress B doesnt show in the photos is how tall/elongated it makes me feel... maybe something about all those layers. And once the busom is under control with the additional layer at the v-neck...i wouldnt have to worry about the girls.

And for the record, i''m not small...i''m lucky to fit into the samples because the salon i visited generally stocks 10-12s as their base size rather than 6''s. I''m so glad they did, because being able to fit/zip it all the way up made the whole visit so effective, upbeat and pleasant (not to mention they were great at picking things that I liked).

So...I''m around 90% decided, but A is where my head tells me to go, but there''s more of a unique vibe about B that i like. I like the straps, and generally prefer this kind of v-neck. I wasnt going for strapless, but when the sample i tried on fit great and i could get a feel for how well it may stay up/support the girls, I stopped worrying about strapless.

The comparison shopper in me thinks that maybe I should go to the 2nd store to make sure i''m not being too quick to pick this, but the lazy part of me thinks that choosing either of these two would be fine...especially considering that A is cheaper and once shipping/tax/alterations are figured in, hits my $$ budget perfectly.

Keep the opinions coming

I''m voting for B - I really like the flowyness of the layers and it''s a bit different.

Take a stab and look some more! I voted for A, but it can''t hurt to see what you might find that takes what you love about A (it''s such a flattering fit on you!) and adds a dash of different like what B has. I think the dropped waist is a big part of dress A suiting you so well. It brings out all your curves and draws the eye to your waist. I think the seam under the bust in dress B seems to shorten your torso (at least in that pic) and your curves get lost under the lines of all the layers.

Both are gorgeous!!! I think A really does a lot for your figure, while B looks a lttle too busty. A is so elegant and classy and really really looks great on you. Since both are so pretty and gorgeous, then why not save the $300 and get A? You can put the extra money towards your wedding band LOL!

Kcoursolle - funny you say to save the $$ because the band I''m dying for is your 5 stone!

yeah...I''m a little biased myself. I got a $270 gown, made my own jewelry, skimped on other things...and then I spent 3k on a wedding band LOL!!! Some people would think I''m so crazy. I figure the wedding band will give me pleasure for years, but the gown only gets worn once.

I voted for "a." I think it is a classic style and looks good on you. If you choose it, wear it well

Definitely A!

I think dress A is more flattering. Both are pretty but A is better I think...

I like B a lot on you... and both look great. But with the dipped neckline A is definitely the most flattering!

I voted for A also. B has too much going on--just too busy.

Definitely, if you''re not 100% crazy about either dresss, keep looking.

I definitely like A best, but I say shop around a little bit more since you''re not 100%. I bet you could find a figure flattering strapless (like A) but with a little bit more going on (like B). Good luck!

i''m completely going with B.
the shape is much more flattering on you. plus i find dress A to be so typical. i think B is much more unique and visually appealing.

A is more traditional but I think they both look great!
