Ok ladies, for those of you who like to look at dresses, I have a question for you!

I am considering the attached dress by Watters. It''s in silk satin, trumpet/mermaid shape, with 2 contour seams along the front and back that give it a sleek, curvy shape. However, I''m afraid that the combination of the seams, material, and fitted nature of the the dress would cause it to pucker very easily and "hold" horizontal wrinkles. It was hard to tell trying on because it was pinned. The frontal picture I''ve attached also doesn''t really show what it would look like because it the dress on the model looks too big, making it wrinkly.

I''ve also attached a bunch of pictures of a real bridewearing the dress from the knot. It looks puckered/wrinkly, but I can''t tell if it''s because hers is ill-fitted or not. What do you think?

Also, there''s a Vera Wang bridesmaid''s dress that comes in white taffeta, that is also pretty and flowy and a LOT cheaper, but doesn''t have the heavy-duty boning or contour seams in front that gives that nice shape. I''m deciding between these two (so far). I can''t attach it but it''s on the website under Maids, floor-length, number 35, shown in pink.

Any input would be appreciated! Has anyone worn a very fitted silk satin dress and does it tend to wrinkle when/where you bend?

Thanks so much!

It''s a gorgeous dress!

hmmm... it does look a bit wrinkly (honestly, it would bug me to death!) I wonder if the fabric is the issue, and not necessarily the fit?

The dress has a lot folds on the real bride because the size is too small for her. This is what one of the brial salons told me. All fabrics will wrinkle, but silk satin should be one of the less wrinkly ones. Less than pure silk and pure satin. In general, the thicker the fabric, the less wrinkly it will get.

Very pretty!! I think if you were to wear the proper linguire underneath and it's properly fitted to your body, you should not have a problem.

Do you have to button all those buttons???

ETA: I didn't add 'not' after should....sorry on my first cup of java still.

thanks for the replies...I''m still hesitant to get it because dresses are nonreturnable and the wrinkles would really bother me, but it would look so nice w/o the wrinkles!

the butons are decorative, there''s a zipper behind them - otherwise it would take forever!

I tried that dress on, its gorgeous! If you get it altered correctly the material shouldnt wrinkle like that! I ordered the Watters BM dress 5299 in the silk satin version and am looking forward to it not looking wrinkled at all!

Wow, I see what you mean, especially in the last picture...it almost looks like it has shirring detail on the back with all the wrinkles!

Isn''t this something that your seamstress would help you avoid? I would think they would alter it to fit your body so it woulnd''t do that...

Selflove, are those wrinkles or "stretch marks" from a too-tight dress? I agree with everyone else, Teagreen, the dress will look fabulous if you have a good seamstress , good undergarments, and a good fit. The real girl picture had a dress that was a teensy bit too tight, I think.

msflutter, if you get those BM dresses anytime soon, and get a sense of what they're like in the right size, let me know what you think! thanks!

oh, i just looked up the dress, and it's so pretty and interestingw/the back detail! i'm curious to see what it looks like from the front. make sure to post pics when you/your BMs get them!

I agree, I do not think that it is the dress.. I think that it is the person in the dress. I think the sizes are way too small for the brides.. that is why they are wrinkling up.
