Hi Ladies - so I had my second fitting today, and she modified the back and pinned up the bustle, and I''m pretty thrilled with how it looks and fits, so I thought I''d share the pictures and get some input from you guys. First, the original pictures:
The whole package:

And then, pictures of the modified back and new bustle, which I''m really excited about:
A shot of the new lace up back, and the bustle from back and side:

Amber, it really looks amazingly gorgeous on you! Beautiful

The bustle looks amazing with the detail on the train!! And I love the laced up back... I''m all for the corseted look!!!

Thanks so much you guys. I just realized how fat and gross I look in the most recent set of pictures - I really am the exact same size in both sets of pictures, but I was really overheated in the second set - it was like 85 degrees where my fitting was today and I was pretty uncomforable in the heat. The dress still looks good though. Thank goodness San Francisco (where the wedding is) is nice and cool in the summer!

ah...very nice! I second OC to loving the bustle! Yay...

Thanks RoseAngel - that''s honestly one of the things I''m most excited about. I feel kind of silly because its a relatively minor thing, but somehow it really makes me feel like a princess to look at the pictures of that bustle and realize that''s really me and I get to wear my dress like that (in just a little over three weeks! Ack!)

I loooooooooove the bustle!!!!! You look like a victorian noble-woman. Or a princess! You are going to be so gorgeous on your wedding day!

How did you come to choosing that bustle, did you see somehting similar and request the seamstress to do it, or was it her idea? It never occurred to me to ask for my bustle to be a certain way so I just went with what my seamstress did, but I wish I''d taken more control of it.

Thanks SelfLove - I did bring in a picture of what I wanted but she wanted something that would provide a little more ground clearance so I could actually dance, hence that bustle is a similar shape/style to what I wanted, just a bit higher up, whihc looking at the pictures, I think it looks equally good or better.

The bustle is amazing. You look fabulous in the dress.

gorgeous bustle!!

Thanks so much qtiekiki and jcrow - I totally started having doubts about 3am this morning, so its good to know that other people like it too

i definitely like the lace up back better...love the bustle.

Thanks Mara - I really struggled with that one and was upset about it when I first realized that was what we would have to do, but now that I see it I agree and I don''t think it takes away from the dress - if anything, I think it makes it look more vintage-ey which is what I wanted anyway. Considering how much I admire your taste in rings and other jewelry it helps to know that you agree with that.

aww thanks AG.....i totally agree that the lace up makes it look more vintage, and to me very ''victorian'' ... now the back of the dress has alot more ''visual interest'' which is fun in wedding gowns!

The dress is beatiful-and I agree with everyone else in that I love the bustle-its gorgeous

everything looks fantastic- the corset, the bustle, the fit, the details! just make sure someone gets plenty of practice doing up that bustle before the big day, it looks really complicated!

Looks gorgeous! I''m going to have to try on that same dress before I commit to the one I have my eye on. :) It''s a Casablanca, right?

Thanks Bee, Faerievert, PeonyGirl.

Yes, it is a Casablanca - I saw the Reem you have your eye on, and its so pretty pretty pretty!! If budget hadn''t been an issue, I think I would have gone Reem, but I just couldn''t stomach the cost...That Ivy really is an amazing find though!

It''s gorgeous! You look so beautiful in it!

Thank you so much SDL and anchor.

SDL, my waist isn''t actually tiny (sadly, with Russian peasant bone structure nothing about me is "tiny"), it just looks tinier because of the waist and because I''m *ahem* "well-endowed" on top...sadly, those are 34DDs, and they are the biggest pain in the behind for all sorts of reasons. But in any case I really appreciate the complement - its so nice to know that that illusion of the small waist is created, because that''s kind of what I was going for, was to have at least some part of me look small

AG- I LOVE your gown!! Your bustle is TO DIE FOR!!! I think if I had a bustle like that I''d want to wear the dress bustled alll day long!!! I think the corset back is a nice addition.. Do you have any shots from the front from the new fitting? Does it look just the same from the front?

I have the exact same problem AmberGretchen! I have 34DD also and I would love to have them a bit smaller. The one good thing is that I always look like I have a small waist
2.gif

Hey MS - I am still LOVING all your beautiful pro wedding pics...that veil was TO DIE FOR, and all your little kids in the wedding were so cute - I''m so jealous, because we don''t have any. Yours were super-adorable!! Sadly, no good pics from the front, but the fit was improved by the corset back - as you can see in the original pics, it was a little too tight around the bust, and a little loose in the waist, so the corset back allows adjustment for that, so it fits better at the top and in the waist. I will have better pics hopefully after my 2nd fitting in 2 weeks, and definitely after the wedding in 3 weeks

Bee - tell me about it. Its so nice to find someone else who can relate! I HATE bra shopping, because nothing ever fits right, and I hate granny bras, but none of the cute ones ever come in that size, and the sales ladies look at you like you''re crazy when you tell them what size you are! But you''re right about the waist thing - that''s definitely one optical illusion I''m a big fan of!

Jumpin'' on the bandwagon -- I love the back! And the front is beautiful -- the beading is elegant!

Congratulations! What a beautiful bride you are!

Thanks Jas - that''s a very sweet thing to say

I do love my dress, in spite of the fact that its not a Reem, I think its about as close as I could get for the money, and I''m really pleased with how it fits now

Amber, you look amazing! I adore the bustle & the corset back looks lovely. (It''s also great because the fit is adjustable!) You''re going to be a beautiful bride!
