A friend of mine is getting married in a little over six weeks and she has changed her mind soooo many times about what she wants...colors, beach wedding, indoor wedding, church wedding, backyard wedding, BMs, no BMs, and on and on.

So, yesterday we went to Davids Bridal to find a MOH and a MOB dress. The bride had finally picked a venue and colors, so it was supposed to be just a quick trip to get whatever "suitable" dresses could be found at this late a date.

Well, they ALL found GREAT dresses, bride included!!! The bride had previously purchased a very inexpensive and "good enough" wedding dress, but was really NOT excited to wear it. She wasn''t planning on trying on ANY dresses, and the store was completely mobbed, so there weren''t any available appointments anyway. On our way to the dressing room with the MOH and MOB dresses, she passed by a dress that was just hanging there and decided to grab it and try it on.

Well, lo and behold, it was just PERFECT!!!! We told her she had to get it, not because she found a great dress, but because the dress found her!!

Thought it was such a cute story that I just had to share with you all. And, I must say, was soooo not planning to be impressed with Davids Bridal, but I was!

I LOVE the neckline! Such a beautifully simple dress. I bought mine at David''s too; there are some great styles to be found!

All three dresses are just lovely! Glad the trip went well for you all! And thank you for sharing the photos!!!

They all look beautiful! That dress looks fantastic on your friend!

All the dresses look beautiful, really classy. What a fruitful trip!

That really IS a pretty dress!!

They all look lovely.

Has anyone else had a good experience with David''s bridal? I''ve heard some horror stories

Me me me! I shopped almost exclusively at David''s because of their prices (with a couple of trips to Alfred Angelo thrown in there for fun). The salespeople were never pushy (as they''ve been described), and they let me return a dress in exchange for one of equal or greater value (mine was greater). One let me try on practically every dress in the store so I could be absolutely sure the one I was exchanging my first dress for was right. And I got pretty much the same feel from 3-4 different David''s stores.

I was a David''s Bridal bride too. They have lots of beautiful dresses and the price is certainly right! You will make a beautiful bride! Very elegant dress.

The dress is perfect for her!!! And headband goes perfectly well with it as well!!

The MOH and MOB dresses are both classy and elegant, just like the bride''s dress.

Congrats all round for finding three awesome dresses!

Honestly, this is what I was expecting, especially when we walked in and it was mobbed!! I guess that is why I am so impressed! I had VERY low expectations!

Anyway, the prices are indeed GREAT!! The bride spent $1000 for her dress, veil, shoes, earring/necklace set, MOB dress, & MOB shoes. The MOH spent $280 for her dress, shoes, flower for dress, & headband for bride (she bought it for her as a gift).

I will say that I did try on 2 dresses "just for fun" (so NOT ready yet), and the fabric on those felt really cheap and I was not wowed at all. I almost felt like they had a huge assortment of BM dresses and several nice bridal gowns, but not many. Also, the sales people were super helpful and not pushy at all!!

Wow! That really is super beautiful!!! I LOVE The MOH dress too!

awww! i tried on that dress. it totally made me feel like snow white (erm...with blonde hair

i was actually quite surpised with DB's - one of my top 3's is there.
eta - london - i think the big thing with davids is how you go in there from the getgo. If you are expecting crap, you'll most likely be spot on becuase you're attitude will say it all. If you go in with low expectations, but an open mind, you might be surprised. My SA there was WONDERful. I knew she would be dealing with other brides so i knew my time with her would be split.
her boss on the otherhand was a snatch about it.

The quality there is NOT the same as high end or semi high end becuase it is mass produced. but its all about what you feel comfy in. I found a BEAUTIFUL casablanca dress that was made out of polyester. so, its all about how you look/feel!

That is one thing about David''s...the fabric is definitely not the greatest quality. But that didn''t matter for me. I can''t tell one kind of fabric from another, let alone how good the quality is. For a bride on a budget who doesn''t really care about expensive or fancy materials, it''s a great option.

I was a david''s bridal bride and I went in with really low expectations.

We wound up at DB because we had to rush our wedding because I found out I was pregnant about 3 1/2 months into our engagement.

I was pleasantly surprised. Everyone was really helpful and kind. It was really easy to do everything---try on dresses, buy the dress, do the dress fitting.

My dress wasn''t my "dream" dress because I was limited on what I could have due to the expanding belly...but it was a great dress that I loved and felt wonderful in.

I''d recommend that people at least give it a chance.

I love that dress!! Its beautiful - I always like the off the shoulder look and that lady has the perfect figure for it.

Opps! I just realized you are not the bride. Sorry! I am glad she had a good experience there.

I wish I could agree. I went in many years ago now (8?) to shop for a bridesmaid's dress for a friend's wedding and was treated more horribly than I was ever treated in any store. I was (and am) a larger woman and need plus size clothing. The bridesmaids dresses at David's that we tried on all came in my size, but the SA who "helped" us kept giving me disgusted looks when he came over to check up on me, zip me up, etc. and tried to not physically touch me and looked horrified when he had to, like my weight was a disease that would infect him. I felt absolutely humiliated and wanted to run out of there, and certainly didn't want to give them my money, but the bride was decided and the rest of the bridesmaids were fine with it, so they got my business. To this day I get a sick feeling in my stomach when thinking about that day.

I am glad others have not had my experiences and that dress in particular (in the OP) is absolutely lovely, but never again will I give them a penny of mine. I'm happy the bride, the MOB and the MOH all got dresses they love, though.

OMG Gwen - I just had to comment that I think you just had an A$$ of an attendant that day. Wow! I am a DB bride (as much as I love the designer dresses, I couldn''t spend the $$ for a dress I know I am going to do a trash the dress session in and cut up to use as matting on the pro-pics I decide to frame). I had a WONDERFUL experience and I''m also a "more to love" gal. My SA was incredibly nice, supportive and helpful. My weight was never ever ever brought up as an issue at all. They had a good number of dresses avalible in my size as well. Overall, I was very pleased with the service and didn''t have a single negative experience even when I would return with my wedding party to get their dresses.

wow, i avoided db when i went dress shopping, but i''m glad to hear that your friend and her moh and mob found great dresses, i think the dresses really suit all three of them, and i love the contrasting colors

Your dress looks great!! I love the neckline! And the colors for your mom and sis look great on them as well! Aren''t you glad you have the dress already? Now you can check that off your list!

Awww, thanks...BUT, it is not my dress. It is my friend''s who is getting married in a few weeks. The girls look great, huh!

I did try a few on, but it was NOT GOOD. So, now I am really nervous about trying more on in the future. I need to drop about 20 lbs first!! At least my wedding isn''t until 10/10/10!!
