Dress shopping

Tomorrow will be my first time going to try on some wedding dresses. I am not feeling very excited about it, but people keep telling me that I will be once I begin trying them on. I don''t really have any ideas about what I might like, so I am hoping to narrow it down some.

Is there anything that I should make sure to bring with me?

An open mind.

I dreaded the prospect of dress shopping, especially due to my size. However. I was made to feel very special.

I had a list of dresses I liked ready and one of the ones I walked out with is actually one on that list, but it had a different catalogue number in store than on the sincerity website.

They just brought me dresses to try on based on my preferences. I was stunned when they put me in one of the dresses I had LOVED when looking online.

Relax, have fun and just enjoy the experience.

I didn''t think I would enjoy it either but it really is great fun and I found the dresses were so flattering on. I didn''t bring anything my first few times dress shopping, although I found I got very hot trying on some of the dresses as they can be heavy, so it was handy having some deodorant wipes.

Wear a strapless bra! That way you can wear any dress and not have the straps show. They can be distracting! Good luck, you never know what will look great on you, so try on even things you think you wouldn''t like!

i wore blue my first time out without thinking, and while it didn''t show through the dress it did show through the poofy skirt/slip i was wearing between dresses

I agree with other posters, just be relaxed and have fun! You don''t have to find The Dress on your first trip...maybe just get a sense of what style looks good on your body, and allow yourself to try on a huge variety - I was in your shoes three weeks ago and finished the day with a very clear image of what I want, and its certainly not what I expected!

Bring a camera, wear comfy panties, a strapless bra, bring a notepad, some pics of dresses you like (if you have them,) and don''t be shy!!!
