Here is the update (see old link for more details https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/my-dress-came-in-and-its-too-small.43063/)
I had my fitting today and the seamstress was going to let out my dress in the hips. Well I tried it on and they only let out the seams a little so that I could decide if they should do more, well the silk fabric was completely marked from where it had been let out and would not look good at all.
I mentioned to Arlene (my seamstress) that another bridal shop had my same dress two sizes larger in a sample sale. She gave me her phone to call information and call the shop. I called the shop a few minutes after they closed and left a message about the dilemma and asked if they still had the dress. The lady at the shop calls me a few minutes later and remembers me from when I called a few weeks ago. She told me the shop would be closed for a week b/c she would be out of town, but if I came over right away I could try on the dress. So I kept my spanx on and rushed over to the shop. I tried on the dress and it fit so much better, just a little loose in the bust and waist, but fit comfortably in the hips. She sold me the dress for 60% off (I only paid $800!) and gave me a glass of champagne to celebrate. So then I went back to the seamstress and she loved the same new dress too.
She''s going to stich back the old one and I''m going to put it on ebay. After the wedding I''ll put the new one on ebay too, so I should break even at the end of the day.
Also as for the old dress, my MOHs are both lawyers, so I one of them is reviewing my contract so see if I can get any compensation from the original bridal shop.
