Ive had them looked at by Yekutiel and many other jewelers and the grading in MY opinion is probably J color Si1 even though they do come along with certificates and photos attached

$10,000 Firm on price. They were purchased at Gary Michael Jewelers in Manalapan , NJ pre-my obsession with Price Scope. PS I suck at photos. they are also shown in show me your studs Forum.

so sorry I didn't know I could not post my contact info. Can someone tell me how to edit post posting? It's listed on Loop Troupe

Admin got rid of it for you...you just need to add a post with your link to your Loupe Troop listing.

Suggestion? I figured there would be negotiations :) As nobody ever wants to pay what the seller is asking. I also do realize this is a resell and not a retail . Thank you

I’d look at comps for EGL stones of similar size and then price under that. On a quick search one can find new GIA excellent cut stones in a similar ct and in your estimated color and clarity for $3500-3700 each— so under that per stone for sure. Can you maybe trade them in with the jeweler you are working with on the larger studs?

You put firm and not OBO after the price so we are to assume there is no negotiating.

There is no upgrade policy with the jeweler which I purchased the stones. However, I appreciate the information and the suggestions on the comps
. Yes, I would like $10000 for the pair. They are actually gorgeous in person. I posted them on loop troupe for $12000 as I assume people bargain there.

My other option is to consign them at a local jewelry store. But they will want commission. I don't want to put them on eBay.

I see J color s1 stones for $4,500 - $6,000 which is what these stones would most likely be if I would send them to GIA So I don't know where $3,500 came into play.

Searching multiple databases you can find J si 1 for under 4K. I’m not trying to insult you at all— I’m sure they are beautiful. But I don’t know if you’ll have success pricing a preowned EGL for the price of a new GIA. Especially when your clarity/color/cut are based on opinion. Another option would be to send the stones in to GIA for certification. That gives a lot more confidence, at least on this board. Good luck with the sale and upgrade!

Hi. These are very pretty. I just checked and BN has several pairs of 2.40 ideal cut J VS1 and VS2 in the 10k range. You probably will need to lower price significantly to get them to sell.

My guess is the $3500 came from this- it comes up on a quick search. I don't think anyone is saying it's a hard comp. But, general specs- 1.2, J, Si1 with GIA.

It does look like you could put together a pair of GIA graded brand new with similar baseline specs, for under 10k retail at James Allen or just at it.

Usually, I start with a minimum of 20% off the price of the item new. A lot of times things sell at up to 50% off second hand because of the risk with a private purchase. Plus, it is a less desirable certificate.

Okay so I guess Ill either keep them or sell through a local store as locals wont have the price scope knowledge
I was stupoid enough to buy EGL certified stones not being a member of this forum at the time.
I bought the hype so mayvbe someone else will as well
thanks for trying to help just brought me down with my less desirable certifical that most people would have no clue about .

Maybe first see how much a local store would price it and give to you for consignment after taking their fees. Awesome if they can offer the 10k you are seeking but you also might get offers so low you might as well keep them. Or, you might try again on this forum with an adjusted price, taking into account what you would get via a third party.

Thank you

Looking for Best Offer.

They are lovely heididdl. Lots of negativity towards egl diamonds. Basically their grading standards are generally 2 shades lower in colour and clarity compared to Gia that’s all. Still lovely stones. Good luck with a sale and hope you get as close as possible to asking price. Look forward to seeing your upgrade =)2

I'm well aware of what I have and all about EGL. I do nit need to be schooled .

Wow, what a sour attitude. Nobody is trying to school you. @Monnyjay was literally just being nice and supportive. There wasn’t even one single word or tone in there that was condescending and you bit their head off. Good luck trying to sell your earrings with that attitude.

Well someone got out of bed the wrong side this morning didn’t they? RUDE.

You’ve asked for $10k FIRM on price. Then get pissed and say you are open to offers when someone, quite rightly, points out the price is way off for second hand sales.

Frankly I wouldn’t buy anything from you at any price given your horrible attitude.

Sidestepping the other discussions here. But selling jewelry can be frustrating. I know HPD will do trade-ins and give you a credit for for their stones. Have you tried that route? I’ve inquired about it before. Never pulled the trigger but it seems easy enough!

I have a policy of not paying for anything second hand more than 60 % of retail. You have to count in the risk, no returns, etc.
