I’m trying to decide between 2 pendants, one more abstract and one clearly a star. My concern with the more abstract one is that it could be perceived as a cross, and I’m not religious. Any thoughts? I really like them both but am leaning toward the more abstract one. Thanks as always for the input! (Anybody else buying themselves a present this holiday? :-) I have a ring and earrings from my husband under the tree already but really like the idea of a white gold necklace in addition to my solitaire.)

I prefer the first necklace/pendant. Cross didnt enter my mind...until I read your post. I still dont think it reads "cross".
I'm not religious either so maybe its just not what I see. Maybe religious people will see a cross so wait for more feedback!

oh oh oh, I love the first one! I don't see cross either, but I'm not religious so... yeah. I like the abstract nature, I like that I keep wanting to look at it.

The star bothers me just because I don't like the way the top point sits... it's like you are moments away from getting impaled by a necklace. If I were wearing it, that's all I would see in the mirror. Too much imagination, I know.

The first one definitely my choice. Does not present as a cross to me. Lovely.

Another vote for the first one (abstract.) If anything it reads as a flower or clover to me, not a cross. I agree with the star analysis @Bianca201 gave above- with the point up, it looks awkward. The star also reads to me as "winter," as in, on the top of a Christmas tree.

I vote for the first one which reads quatrefoil to me versus a cross.

cross also doesnt enter my mind but from the photo and sitting back from my laptop the shape reminds me of the VC&A Alhambra shape
i would rather have just a regular shapes diamond pendant so dont mind me
but if you go with the first one please dont be worried about it looking like a cross and in NZ most regular folk dont talk religion but i do beleave

I prefer the first one too and do not think it looks like a cross.

Another vote for the first one, and no, cross didn't enter my mind.

Thank you for the vote of confidence!

I totally see what you mean now that you’ve said it! Jewelry plus weapon!

Thank you! I do see the winter relation, too, now.

I do see that! It’s marketed as a “blossom” floral necklace.

Thanks! Interesting about the VCA similarity. I don’t want to look like I’m copying the Alhambra line. Really happy nobody think cross when they see it.
I do have a beautiful 0.75 ct solitaire pendant but was looking to mix it up a bit. Then again, maybe sticking with the ultimate classic is the right move. So much to think about, and I appreciate the input:-)

I wasn’t sure which one was supposed to be the cross but then I realised you probably meant the one with the four petals. FWIW it does look like a quatrefoil but not at all like VCA so I think you’re in the clear there. I prefer it to the other which is too delicate and pointy for my taste.

Yep, the 4 petals one is the one I feared. I’m really glad it doesn’t look too VCA. And I do totally see the pointiness of the star now and that it’s a bit harsh . Thank you! I think I’ll be coming home with the 4 petals tomorrow! Very excited! Everyone’s thoughts have been so helpful in deciding:-)

Both necklaces are beautiful. I don’t think the first one resembles a cross at all. I prefer the first necklace.

I really prefer the 1st one. I didn't think "cross" at all. I think it's cool looking

I like the first one better. The symmetry and the way it hangs on the chain seem more pleasing to my eye. And I also don’t see it as a cross.
