So, I''ve recently been pondering over a delicious box of Zappos and Shoebuy shoes. Well, two boxes really. I ordered 8 pair altogether. 5 of them were those dyeable type shoes (touch ups/colorifics etc) and I have to say........boy are they uncomfy

Some of them were quite cute (Touch up''s Divine was cute) but when I put them on I can''t explain it except to say it felt like I was wearing plastic on spikes. Just real stiff. For $55 I don''t expect italian leather, but I''ve worn some reasonably comfy shoes in that price range before. Has anyone else had this experience? I know many people get these shoes so maybe it''s me.......maybe I need to give these shoes many days of breaking in?

I ended up deciding that I''d either go real cheap and get white shoes (I''ll never wear white again)......like Payless prices (at those prices I would at least expect plastic on spikes).........or buy a nice pair in silver that I would wear again. Thank goodness I threw in a pair of Nina''s at the last second on my order because those impulse shoes are by far my fave right now. Sure, they''re $30 more but they are very comfortable and so cute. I think they''re keepers

Here''s a pic. These may be the ones but I''m still poking around for a lower heel in the meantime.

You can''t totally tell in these pics but the fabric is glittery-sparkly without the glitter. It''s really lovely :)

I think those are very pretty! Do you have pics of the others? I definitely say don''t go w/the really uncomf. shoes. How high are the heels in the ones you posted?

I ended up buying some white ones from ebay. They accepted my offer of $15 and I was thrilled. They aren''t spectacular but are cute and not bad comfy-wise. Of course, since then, I''ve seen some really cute shoes at DSW but will not allow myself to buy them.
I hope you''re going to return all of those you decide you don''t want!

LOL. There will definitely be some returning of the shoes I don''t like in my near future

. I have them all boxed up and ready to go back, just have to remember to get to Staples one of these days :)

Thankyou! I really like them to! I have already tried them on with jeans and this BCBG dress I have that and they look so great :) I wonder if anyone wore thier wedding-day shoes to other events BEFORE the wedding day? The heels are 2.75 which is a very comfortable heel height for me but that''s the only problem as I really don''t want to be too much taller than FI and he''s already an inch shorter than I barefooted. That''s why I''m still on the lookout for some very low heeled or flat shoes that I can love just as much.

I''m so happy you found your shoes!!!! Doesn''t it feel grand to cross it off your list!!??? Yay!!!

The Ninas are really cute. I have seen some expensive and horrendous dyeable shoes that were NOT comfy...

I sent back every single pair of dyeables I bought. They were HORRIBLE!!!

While I agree that you''ll probably never wear white shoes again, make sure that whatever you do buy is comfortable because your wedding day is one of the longest days on your feet you''ll have, and bad shoes can show on your face in photos!

I ended up getting a pair of Sofft slides in BLUE!!! Are you set on white/silver? or can you go bold?

Yes, there will be no plastic on spikes for me

. No worries there.

I thought of getting blue shoes! And although I don''t think I''d wear blue shoes very often in the future, I do still look from time to time.......you''ve reminded me to take another look on zappos. If you have any pics of recommended blues, feel free to pass them on

Oh yes - I wore red shoes under my wedding dress. It was fun!

I think it is important to remember that all "dyeable" shoes are not created equal. Nearly any white satin shoe (or at least the silk satin ones) are capapble of being dyed, but I think there is a huge mark-up on shoes that are marketed specifically towards brides. While I would expect most mormal shoes in the $50-$60 dollar range to be decently comfortable because they are not the least expensive option. For dyeables, however, those prices are the low end of the spectrum, i.e. the lowest quality.

I finally bought my shoes from Peter Fox, who sells mostly white satin shoes (for weddings and theatre). Yes, they were more than I wanted to spend, but they are super comfy and have all of the other requirements I wanted. Of course, I also tried on several pairs of white satin Stuart Weitzmans and some other high-end brands (which cost even more than I ended up spending), and I didn't find any of them to be very comfortable. I even tried white satin ballroom shoes, but wasn't in love with them.

Bottom line...they have to be well-made and well-balanced, of they will be uncomfortable. I am glad that you are sending the crappy ones back. And I definitely think you should keep looing into more re-usuable shoes. I feel silly knowing that mine are jsut for one day - though I guess I can dye them black later.

ETA: another comfort-less factor with satin shoes is that they don't stretch - some that are built over leather might give a little, but otherwise they aren't going to break in like a nice pair of leather shoes will.
